Permanece en mi memoria desde mi infancia.

C squealed with delight at the ending. And felt all the feels throughout. Such a wonderful story.

Sad book!! Made me sad to read about how ANYONE can mistreat a horse like that!!! How anyone can not love them enough to treat them decently is beyond me!!!

Reread as an adult and I think it was even more powerful. We’re so mean to animals!
slow-paced
Loveable characters: Yes

At the ripe old age of 27, I finally read this beautiful children's classic. It was everything I hoped it would be and more, and definitely lives up to its high acclaim.

I loved the moral that was intertwined throughout the story and believe everyone could become a better person by reading this autobiographical novel told from the eyes of a horse. It teaches us to show tenderness and kindness towards animals, which in turn teaches us to treat humans the same way animals wish to be treated - with patience, love, and respect.

I thought Beauty's experience along with the stories told from other horses he meets within his lifetime was an accurate portrayal of the 'human treatment spectrum'. Some are loyal, gentle, and caring, whereas others are ignorant, selfish, and cruel. I thought the author did an incredible job of putting herself in the horse's shoes, offering a diverse and unique perspective that still remains more than a century later.

I thought each movement of Black Beauty's life was given just the right amount of time to introduce the humans, let us get to know them, and glimpse an insight into the horse's life there. Though each movement was fairly swift, the characters were well-rounded and ingrained in the pages enough for us to miss them/wish them good riddance when Beauty moved on.

The ending was exactly as I hoped it would be. I don't usually favour a happy ending but I think in this instance, it played out perfectly.

I read this ages ago--am watching a booktube video that made me remember it!

As much as I loved horses as a child I'm so surprised I had never read this! Having read the story for the first time, I can say I absolutely adored this book!
adventurous

6yo bubba and I loved it. So sad at parts but teaches a child important lessons.
