The artwork was beautiful, the story was so-so. The fantasy storyline just felt a bit well-worn and predictable.
What happens when you die? Heaven? Hell? Middle Earth? It's Middle Earth. Filled with all the stock characters you love. All the good people in one side and bad on the other.
This story was predictable but the art was amazing. Don't know if I'll read the next one or not. What I wondered was who decided good or bad? Who did a woman who did nothing bad in her life become the Chosen One? Why did one spree shooter who killed himself become the devil incarnate? But above all, why was I so bored?

A fucking awesome comic. I love the premise and the story. I cannot WAIT for more.
Mick found this on a recommended list, so we got the single issues from our local comic shop. Hence the long read time, spread out over months.

Life after is always an interesting premise, but unfortunately the first volume didn't deliver for me. I thought the characters weren't given enough depth, and a lot of the events were too convenient.
Capullo's art looked great, though, so giving it an additional star for that.

Another great title from Millar, this time with the addition of some pretty awesome art from Capullo.
The philosophy of life after death is handled with subtlety and respect as Bonnie says goodbye to one life and 'hello sprightly young body' to the next one. Millar keeps what could be a heavy subject light and humorous for the most part, but he isn't afraid to step into darker territory when needed.
Capullo's artwork adds to the narratives characterisation, although at times, I feel more could be done with the eyes, especially as they often were the focus of individual panels.
I'm really looking forward to more of this series, as there's clearly more of this other world to explore.

An interesting concept but there are no answers for major issues, notably why everyone in the fantasy afterlife is connected to the protagonist. That’s not inherently a problem, they could be an ongoing plot for future arcs, but they’re not treated as mysteries or even as important by the narrative or the characters. They are just facts of the setting and ignored, and that’s very disappointing.
Yeeeeees. This was awesome! I loved this author's idea of what the afterlife might be like. I want more, now!
The story started out pretty good, but the dialogue by the end was meh to my taste. The art is fantastic, though.
