His Undoing by Aria Grace is a short story in the M/M Romance genre. It is told from Mike's point of view.

Like other reviewers of this story, I feel that only having the one point of view is what made this story not as great as it could have been. I enjoyed reading from Mike's POV but I this story would have made better sense and would have been better at the execution if we could have peeked into what Brett was feeling as well.

Mike is a guy who has always had a hard time talking to girls. He is still a virgin, scrawny and tall, and not very muscular. He is starting college and is dreading wondering who his roommate will be. When he enters his new room, he meets Brett who happens to be a muscular jock. He thinks he is going to be picked on by Brett and his friends, but they both become good friends. Brett even introduces him to his game buddies, the cheerleaders and eventually fills Mike in that he is gay.

While Mike is trying to figure out who he really is -- gay or straight like he has always though he was -- he is attacked in the dorm. This is the part that would have made having Brett's point of view to give us a little more. When it is revealed who the attacker was, it is a character pulled into the story from no where. This is someone who is not mentioned throughout the story and we never even get a glimpse at this person. It made the suspense and buildup of the "who-done-it" quite a let down.

While the tender and sexy moments were written pretty well, this story really need to have Brett's story told as well.

Very sweet story and I have to say Mike and Brett were hot together.
SpoilerThere is a small m/f scene and normally that's a no-no for me but it worked and I'm glad I didn't let that stop me from reading the book. The first one I've read in about 3 1/2 years, LOL
This is a new author for me glad to have found a new one.

This was a great gay-for-you story. Told from the point of view of Mike, "The kids I grew up with called me a fag. I'm not gay but I guess small features and a lack of arm and chest definition were enough to consider me effeminate by most standards.", the story starts when Mike arrives at his dorm and meets his room-mate Brett.

Brett is the typical tall and muscled jock. However, as Mike gets to know Brett, he realises that Mike isn't all what he expected and he certainly didn't expect him to be gay. The men develop a close friendship which, to the reader is obviously more, but Mike is yet to acknowledge it.

The story involves a traumatic assault on Mike which provides a further push for the relationship development as Brett's protectiveness and nurturing side really kicks in. Although I did think the resolution of the attack on Mike seemed a little strange
Spoiler Why was Brett protecting his lunatic ex-boyfriend?

It was great that Brett was not the stereotypical jock (so often these stories are about the jock realising he is attracted to the geek). Rather the story focuses on the 'non-gay' Mike gradually realising that he is more attracted to Brett than his newly-found girlfriend. I wasn't overly happy with Mike's treatment of the girlfriend but the way the story was written, Maggie was alright with the outcome and happy to transition to good friend so I guess all was okay.

This story is a nice blend of good characters and interesting plot with some drama thrown in. The sex was also good (it was nice to see Brett not taking the stereotypical role - or at least the role I would have expected - in their first encounter, particularly as Mike was very new to sex).

A nice happy ending although it did seem a bit abrupt - a short last chapter that basically summarised that all was right in the world or at least HFN. "Everything was still new and confusing at times, but I was happier than I'd ever been."

A copy of this book was provided by the author in return for an honest review.

A decent story though I felt like I didn't really get to know the characters well.

Aria Grace has done it again. I really enjoyed this short story. When Mike found out he would be sharing a dorm with a former football star, he was worried. He was the complete opposite of a jock and had been bullied for being scrawny and was not looking forward to repeat that experience. However, Brett was a great guy and seemed to enjoy his company. Although one day, Mike suddenly starts to get threating letters telling him to back off from Brett. But why was he receiving these and was he really at risk because of some crazy jealous ex - boyfriend?

If you like M/M then this book is for you. I couldn’t put the story down. It was very well written and captivated me from the beginning. This was defiantly a page turner and I can’t wait to see what Aria has in store for us next.

There was something so real about the emotional development of the relationship between Brett and Mike. What started out as s tentative friendship between roommates blossomed into so much more. I loved that the author showed the progression of their relationship, even going as far as writing in an almost perfect girlfriend for Mike. Yet even the most perfect girlfriend could not make him forget the feelings his roommate invoked in him.

A beautifully written story whose only flaw was the lack of a more substantial ending. It seemed a bit rushed to me. Other than that, it was a great read and I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by this author.

The story was weird. Both MCs behaved rather abnormally and became unlikeable. Undisclosed M/F scene. This is an older book and there are much better MM GFY college books available.
