Enjoyable read, but they opened a security company with money and not brains. So it's laughable that when taking on a case and they want to be lead, but have no military and police or seemingly any kind of protection background, that they would just be able to use money and their alpha ways to protect someone. Still highly enjoyable to read, but since they are the money people they need to do better at actually protecting people.

Dude, No. Absolutely not.

Heck this book.
I don't know why i wasted my time. I knew it was not going to pay off, but i stuck with it, cause i was over halfway.
i understand the allure of a supernatural element, and a thriller/romance, but this was just not it, sis.
This might legitimately be one of worst books i have ever read.

Okay story. Could have been so much more with a good edit and some events fleshed out.

Very slow paced. Felt like I was listeneing to a soap opera. The half star is for it made it okay to listening to while driving as I didn’t really miss out on anything even if traffic took my attention.

Another great series started by Maya Banks. Caleb and Ramie were an adorable couple dealing with extraordinary circumstances. Really enjoyed the psychic element and anticipate the rest of the trilogy

I liked the premise of this novel and I like the idea that Maya Banks is setting up a family of stories. I have issue with the male lead character. He is a contradiction of caring and chauvinistic male behaviors. There are clear moments when he demands that things go his way and refuses to even consult the person in questions desires or wants. He isn't a horrible character it is just jarring to have someone be very loving and caring one moment and head-splitting chauvinistic the next.

The ending was rushed. Also, it isn't a slow-burn, it was insta-love for sure. I felt like the characters were trauma dumping at the beginning in other to establish a "deep" connection, but it felt forced and lacked impact.
Overall, it was entertaining and fast to read, and the powers were interesting. But giving that the whole books leads toward this big moment where something bad will happen, and everything ended up resolving too quickly... it was underwhelming and disappointing.

This was fine. I wanted to like it more but it just never got there for me.

I was in two minds before reading this book as alot of the ratings and reviews were not great but still decided to give it a go. I now really wished i had'nt, the story sounds great but was actually clunky and not full of the suspense I was expecting, the lead characters had no spark, and just irritated me. In the end I gave up even though 85% of the story was over, i just could'nt take it any more and did'nt care if Ramie survived and lived hea.
