Murderbot was an extremely relatable main character, I also would like to spend my whole day watching my favourite shows and don't like people looking at me. The other characters were also good, it's always nice to read about competent characters. And I loved how diverse they were and things like polyamorous marriages were just mentioned in a short sentence, really shows how common they are in this world.
Even though this short novella didn't focus all to much on the wider world building, there were enough mentions of politics and technology and such to show it really is a fully fledged out setting and I'm looking forward to reading the other books in this series and learning more about it.

Murderbot is a SecUnit, a security unit trying to save the humans it's been tasked with protecting from an unknown group determined to kill them all. As a rogue, most think it would go around killing humans randomly, but Murderbot didn't like doing that. It likes protecting its humans and consuming media, such as the soap opera Sanctuary Moon.
This is a mystery and a comedy set in space and starring an autistic coded, nonbinary main character trying to figure out what it wants while saving its favorites humans. I fucking love this book, and all of its sequels.

Listen, it's super entertaining with sass and anxiety that is so human-like and quite relatable, if I dare say so. I relate to it's feelings regarding socialization and the sense of not knowing what to do with your life so fucking hard it's unbelievable.
At first I was a bit confused, because there was a lot of info to take in, but at some point I was straight up vibing with the story. No doubt, this is one of the more amusing books that are comforting in a way. So imagine my surprise and joy when I found more stories in this series! The books are more on the shorter side, but they don't feel fast paced at all - there's a perfect balance. Besides, I finished it in a day, so I was rather happy!
I could have become a mass murderer after I hacked my governor module, but then I realized I could access the combined feed of entertainment channels carried on the company satellites. It had been well over 35,000 hours or so since then, with still not much murdering, but probably, I don't know, a little under 35,000 hours of movies, serials, books, plays, and music consumed. As a heartless killing machine, I was a terrible failure.
