Excellent light, witty detective novel with an unique protagonist who I need to know better. Brilliant antidote to my previous dark read and now I need to read the whole lot!

A quick and witty read. For some reason the language made me think of Lucifer Box-novels by Mark Gatiss.

Apart from a few inconsistesies (like Flavia searching for a key when she has previously shown she can pick a lock), it was a good book.

Decent story but Flavia's voice didn't ring true.

I really love Flavia De Leuce. I absolutely laughed out loud while listening to this book. There is something endearing about such a cheeky sleuth and amateur poison expert.

I can't understand the high rating this book has. It's just so far out there to believe the narrator is eleven years old. Add on the extreme lack of any affection between the main character's family, and you just can't get attached to anyone. Forget trying to clear her dad of the crime, he should have went away, guilty or not. Not to mention all of the lingo that us Americans won't get at all. Sorry, Bradley.

Listening to on iPod. Having trouble staying engaged with this one.

Tried to listen again, not loving it.
