This was very cute and fun. I loved the setting this book had and I thought all the characters were very fun and interesting people. Last year, I read Gwen and Art are not in Love, and I remember enjoying it for the most part, but I think I definitely like this book better. Overall it was nothing too serious and I had a fun time reading!!

listen, i've been reading the reviews since this came out. i knew it wasn't gonna be as stellar as gwen & art - so going in with that in mind, it was pretty alright! a little bogged down by the complicated politics & such, but there were some really stellar moments between the mcs! <3

I ended up enjoying this :) I found it a drag for the first half basically. it was engaging enough to keep me reading but I wasn't very invested. the promise of romance kept me reading I must admit. however in the second half I enjoyed it a lot more! I enjoyed the development of the relationship. I do quite like mariel as a character, she's compelling, although following the typical beats and tropes. clem I found i didn't ever really understand or felt like she was a real fully formed character. the side characters as well weren't well developed and real for me, which didn't leave me the most invested in them and what happened to them. I felt the plot was boring for a while, but then got more interesting. was worth the read to be an easy light read to pass the time and relax :)

definitely will have to read the physical copy cause this took like 6 months to finish but it was really good.
