I read this, and the first in the series, in a 24 hour period! I really enjoyed it. I liked the presence of another strong female character, who was able to overcome some pretty bad odds. I was upset that the family left Haven so alone - they could have got her out of a bad situation much earlier. (Ya I know, there wouldn't be as much of a story, but...). I was thrilled to find out why Hardy had done what he did in the first book - I knew he was not like that!
I realize that I may be in the minority - but I truly prefer these to Kleypas' historical romances.
Definitley looking for the third in the trilogy.

What I like the most about this book is thar Miss Kleypas takes her time to build the relationship between Nick and Havev. Even at the end, Nick shows his true color, that relationship helps me to contrast the relationship Haven have with Haden later on.

Romance story revolving domestic abuse victim is not easy to be told without giving a respect to the survivors. On this case Haven character fell short of survivor title. In the middle she is portrays as needy and dramatic with her push and pull toward Hayden.

However at the end of the story, I still enjoy the book.

I started this thinking it was the first book but then I realized it was the second but never mind.

HARDY CATES. That is all.

Oh how I wish real life love stories wrapped up so pretty & perfect like they do in these types of books!

As old as this book is, it still holds up. Haven is a powerful story of recovery and the romance is so sexy and sweet. It's very immersive in the life of millionaire oil ceo's, which isn't normally a group of people I enjoy reading about but they're fun.

The therapy terms are out of date, and I think narcissist is used incorrectly, but otherwise it remains fairly current.

Growing up as the scapegoat child of a narcississtic mother, this was difficult to read. But empowering as well. I finally had an answer, thanks to reading this. My thanks to the author for tackling this topic.

I think it's official. Sugar Daddy started my curiosity, and this just made me a Lisa Kleypas fan.

It was believable and easy to get into. It was worth staying up late just to finish this.

Just not my cup of tea. I don't need trauma with my romance, thanks.
