I read this book out of order with the rest of the series it was written for, and while I was able to understand the situation I'm sure it would have been better for me if I'd read the first one before diving into this one.

That being said, this book was interesting.

Elements of domestic abuse, workplace abuse, harassment, and a guy who jumps in to save her...apparently because he couldn't have the woman he wanted (I think he was the losing point in the love triangle in book 1) .

I'm not mad at it and since it's Kleypas it's very well written, if a little soapy. It felt like an episode of Dallas...but in a good way.

I use the CAWPILE Review method for my reviews (see explanation here), just to keep me honest and help me understand what exactly I liked/didn't like. My ratings are below.

Atmosphere/Setting: 7/10
Writing: 9/10

I loved thissss I love Lisa kleypas

When the hero is the enemy/rival of the heroine's family>>>>>>> and only soft for her and her only!!

Well this books was definitely something. I had to stop reading to cry a couple of times!!! I was so enthralled by this book it almost felt like it was a real story. Heaven is such a real character and her story is so heartbreaking and ordinary that it made me feel that I was just listening to a friend rather that reading a fictional book. Hardy is PERFECT!! I was a bit disappointed after reading Sugar Daddy and all his background history with Liberty to not end up with her, but now I’m glad he didn’t. He is just what Heaven needed.

Next to Smooth Taking Stranger :) can’t wait!!!!

(Hardy Cates). that's the review.
challenging dark emotional sad tense

Guilty pleasure books but I love this author! easy reads I can knock out in a day
