Walker is the catcher of the Chicago Bobbies and has an image problem with the public and Kate is the PR manager that works with him to clean up his act. Kate doesn’t take take any of Walker’s grumpiness and is able to get through to him and break down his walls. Their friendship and attraction grow thought out the story but they can’t be together due to the team having a no fraternization rule. Walker and Kate’s story was sexy, emotional and I loved the build up between them. I could not get enough of this story, Meghan did a great job of making me fall in love with these characters. Vanessa Edwin and Jason Clarke did an incredible job with bring Kate and Walker to life, they captured their emotions perfectly.
Meghan really amps up the tension between Kate and Walker and I am HERE. FOR. IT. There was so much build up between them and when they finally give in, it was worth every minute. My heart was racing so many times just anxiously waiting for them to listen to their hearts. Kate turns Walker into a big ole softie and I loved it. One of my faves from Meghan!
3.5 I really liked the couple and the banter was cute. This was a lot angstier than I thought it would be. There was almost a little too much of them coming back to each other then pushing each other away immediately.

This is Walker and Kate's story, the most hated baseball player and the team event coordinator having to help clean up his image, their chemistry is off the charts, they don't deny their attraction, but working together makes the forbidden romance much sweeter to read, all the tension and angst building from it, then comes their banter which is fantastic, I laughed a lot and the sexy talk is one that I really enjoyed in this book. The series is very good if you love sports romances. The audiobook is narrated by the talented Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin, you can't go wrong with Jason Clarke ever. He has a voice that will hook you from the start. They both did brilliant work, I suggest you get the audible version and enjoy this story.

I've read a few books from Meghan Quinn, and never had an issue at all.
This book did not disappoint, its the first book on a while where I've sat down for ages trying to finish it faster to see what happens.
Really enjoyed it!

Move over boys of Brentwood - Walker is taking over as top book boyfriend of this series!
Walker is the catcher who just can't seem to catch a break. His moodiness and temper tantrums seem to be getting the better of him and his playing abilities. Enter Kate who is bound and determined to turn his image around. While he continues to keep up the walls he built she starts tearing them down. The way theirs lives intertwined was an excellent surprise and really tied this book together.
There is so much I loved about this book but Walker and Kate were just perfection together. This book had it all; angsty steaminess with a bit of enemies. I loved every bit of it!

There are three distinct truths about Meghan Quinn’s The Perfect Catch that should be the sole impetuses for reading this book:
*There is absolutely nothing better than a grumpy, closed-off hero who is changed forever by a persistent, intelligent, scheming woman.
*Sports romance is some of the best romance out there. In the world of Meghan Quinn, it’s a perfect mixture of comical and touching. One minute you find yourself laughing at the antics of her baseball players; the next, you find tears in your eyes because the gravity of her story hits you in the heart.
*This book, while funny in moments, is actually one of her more serious books I’ve read recently. I was actually surprised at the seriousness of The Perfect Catch, and it made for a read where I found myself emotionally invested in Walker and Kate. Even more, it also was pretty steamy throughout.
So, to be very succinct I LOVED The Perfect Catch. There is nothing I love more than a crabby, cranky, mean-spirited hero who is faced with a woman who can see more in him. Even when my stomach swooped at every mean thing he says to Kate...even when I can feel Kate’s dejection...even when all seems lost in this story, I love the journey of a man who has built brick after brick of protection around his emotions. A story such as Walker and Kate’s is a reminder that people experience deep hurts, and they simply need a person or people to invest in them. With persistence and perseverance, the Walkers of the world can find love, and in a story such as this, they love at a depth that makes you swoon. And that is definitely the case with The Perfect Catch.
Kate is the type of heroine that you can’t help but adore in romance. She has endured loss, and she has been tenacious in living her best life. She is the first person in the book to recognize the soft underbelly of Walker. She simply persists in helping him live his best life, and you can’t help but adore her.
This story is also a forbidden love story, and oh my word...Quinn makes you work for Walker and Kate’s every touch. This is some serious slow-burn with so much anticipation built into it. The eroticism of this book lies in Walker and Kate’s build-up. It’s the best part of the book. It’s also the part of the book that can be the most frustrating because you want these two to be together. You need them to be together because they make each other better versions of themselves. But...Quinn makes you work hard for a happy ending in The Perfect Catch.
Now, there is a little bit of a twist to this story. I will reveal nothing here, but it comes from out of nowhere, and it feels a little unnecessary. I appreciate it, though, but it’s the reason I wouldn’t call this a solid 5 star read.
If you’re like me and you love Meghan Quinn’s baseball players, GRAB Walker’s story in The Perfect Catch. You will NOT regret this one.
