Meghan Quinn hits a home run with the bases loaded when it comes to the most sizzling hot and angsty slow burn this year.
After losing his temper one time too many, MLB catcher Walker Rockwell needs to restore his image or he’ll most likely be traded. Enter Kate Chapman, the Chicago Bobbies newest PR Manager. She’s smart, she’s resourceful, she puts Walker in his place, but mostly she’s interested in getting to know the surly man in order to help him.
While getting to know each other, they form a deep and intimate bond on top of their burgeoning attraction. Each interaction reveals another layer, texts turn into hot exchanges, innocent touches heightens their desire and each time they’re forced to redraw lines. But one thing is clear, they cannot be more or they’ll lose everything they’ve worked for.
This book is going straight to my best of 2021 list. I fell complete for Walker and Kate. He’s so closed off and ill-tempered on the surface but he’s really a mix between a demanding alpha and a sweet, charming and attentive man with misplaced guilt. And with Kate’s tenaciousness and caring they make the perfect couple.
Their delicious slow burn journey was bursting with great banter, scorching interludes, and emotion from angst to wonderful happiness. I loved every second of it.
The Perfect Catch is a standalone contemporary romance by Meghan Quinn. It is a sexy standalone romance, told from both points of view with a happy ending. Genres: Contemporary | Sports | Baseball romance. Tropes: forbidden romance

I do enjoy Meghan's sports romances. They are also good for laughs and the feels. This book was no different. I was excited for this one because Walker is a catcher and I love catchers. Walker's personality isn't great and it's effecting his game. Walker needs a overhaul if he wants to continue his career. I really liked Kate. She's someone I would be friends with. She has the magic touch when it comes to Walker. It's amazing where Walker ends up at the end of this one. He's going to surprise you in the best of ways. If Walker and Kate want to start something it's forbidden because no fraternizing with the players for Kate. I laughed a lot through out the whole book. Another reason I look forward to a book by Meghan is it's going to put me in a good mood and make me feel good by the end. Kate and Walker are going to have their ups and downs through out this book and the challenges of being together.
This book was a slow burn. So much tension and waiting. When it finally happened I was kind of left down by what could’ve been. Then the classic we can be together and happily ever after. It was a good book but idk I will be reading any other in the series.
Anyone who follows Meghan Quinn's #towelbrigade knows that these boys are so swoon-worthy, it's almost a sin to pick a favorite one...but you may just take that chance with Walker Rockwell.
In The Perfect Catch, Walker is the catcher for the Bobbies, the "nicest" baseball team out of Chicago. He doesn't quite fit the mold. Walker has a temper, is brash, doesn't care about what people think about him and perpetually has a chip on his shoulder. He's the one that has to work for every success he's had, and so when he keeps being teamed up with his mortal enemy, Penn, one who is so naturally talented but careless, it just doesn't sit well with Walker. To fix his image, Walker works with the team's social events coordinator, Kate. Kate is great with her job. She takes the time to understand Walker by spending time with him, talking to him, and this is where sparks start to fly. They both become very attracted to each other, but can't do anything because of the team's policy against employees dating players.
I will be the first to admit that I am the biggest fan of Meghan Quinn's Baseball Series, aka the Towel Brigade. This book was so well written, it just kept me wanting more. I smiled, I cried, I swooned, my heart ached and I counted to 5. There are so many memorable scenes in this book that builds on the characters so well.
The audio version was narrated by Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin. I think each were the perfect fit for the characters. Grumpy Jason was so good to the ears and Vanessa Edwin counting to 5 will change your life!

I keep thinking I've found my favourite Brentwood boy and then another comes along to go, "yeah but what about me, though?" And that's the case with Walker. I'm obsessed with this. The tension. The slow burn. The grumpy sunshine. The baseball. The humour. The writing. All of it. I'm obsessed. Can MQ do any wrong? Because I haven't found it...I volunteered to read and review an early copy of this. All opinions are my own.
