Fuck me.
This book may have started out slow for me, but fuck did it end with a bang.
I was having a hard time getting into this book at first. I think at work because I read two other books by this author right before starting this one and those books were more humor packed than this one.
I was expecting this one to be just as funny and entertaining.
But it was a lot more emotional than I signed up for.
The tension between these two characters is absolutely heartbreaking.
They connect to each other on a whole other level. They want and need each other on a soul deep level.
And they can’t act on it without flipping their entire world upside down.
And then when they finally do give in to the chemistry it gets even sadder.
After that, they know.
They know exactly how good it would be.
They know exactly what they’ll be missing out on.
My face is an absolute wreck from fucking sobbing over this book.
Then the ending.
It was very satisfying.
And then it just kind of cut to black.
So I’m a bit conflicted about the beginning and the ending. But.
The middle I think makes up for it 100%.
This was beautiful and so sad and I loved these two characters.
I’m glad I set it aside for a minute so I could pick it up again and finish it.
I think it was well worth the initial struggle.

I'm not great at writing reviews but I'll give it a try.
I really loved Walker and Kate's story. They are so good together. The fact that they weren't supposed to be together because of the policy at work did make things a little spicier. I was really worried someone would find out and she would get fired.
The history with Walker and Penn was a good side story
(spoilers below this line)
I'm glad Roark offered her the job to run the Chicago office and didn't have the same policy mainly because he knew how much Kate and Walker loved each other.
Finding out Kate's friend Dan was really Penn was a crazy but good twist. I had a feeling that Penn's drinking was due to Walkers sister Dawn but hearing him apologize to Walker made me tear up. And the Walker going to Kate to make up made me tear up again.
Adding in Penn going to rehab and making up with Walker made the book even better.

This may well be my favorite entry into the Brentwood Boys series.
Even if you’re not a baseball fan like I am, you’ll enjoy all the juicy elements that a sports romance has to offer:
forbidden romance
workplace romance
friends to lovers
a slow burn with an extremely hot end
baseball player with all the alpha swoon
a twist that will make it impossible to stop reading
I had such fun reading this and even had a particular baseball player in mind as my inspiration for Walker, the sexy broody catcher who’s infamous for his temper tantrums and bad press. Enter Kate, the team’s newest PR manager, whose purpose is to not only keep the Chicago Bobbies baseball team in high regard, but to pull Walker out of the negative spotlight as well.
Of course the more time they spend together, the more they desire each other. The angst was so potent my chest hurt. I can’t wait for you to experience the phenomenal sexual chemistry between Walker and Kate. With his grumpiness asshole personae and her relentlessness and gentility, they both swept me away.
Though “The Perfect Catch” connects to other book series, this can be read as a standalone. For the fans of the Brentwood series, this is such a delight. Just in case these might be a trigger for you, though, there’s alcoholism and a sibling death. In essence, this story has depth, emotion, and so much adrenaline it was hard for me to put down.
Thank you to Candi Kane PR for an advanced copy of Meghan’s latest gem.

I’m kinda sad this series is over… but I enjoyed this one just like all the others. A fun, steamy sports romance.
a grumpy/sunshine romance with some forbidden love vibes (player falls for an employee of the baseball organization), this one will pull at your heartstrings. the chemistry between Walker and Kate is
This may be my favorite of the Brentwood Boys series. The slow-burn forbidden-romance was angsty and spicy.
Wow. This rounded out the series so nicely with fun cameos. Walker has a rough exterior but truly is such a good man. He just needed the right person to unlock him. Kate was such a wonderful complement to Walker. This book felt a little different for the rest of the series (not in a bad way). A few fun twists and complements to other books in difficulty MQ series.
Ooh. The angst. The steam. The fabulous Walker - bad boy of baseball... and the beautiful Kate.
Can an event management team member clean up the reputation of the bad boy? Well, Kate was definitely up for the challenge. She pushed Walker in ways he didn't like. With each interaction, the two of them grew closer, connection deeper, and chemistry hotter. I LOVED these two!
Meghan sure knows how to write strong, loveable characters with wit, intelligence, and humor. These two had chemistry that was off the charts! If you love comedy, romance, gorgeous men and beautiful women who are each individually strong but combustible together, then you will LOVE this one as much as I do!
Another homerun from Ms. Quinn!
