Okay so great this book was great, everything was great, the characters were great but nothing managed to be better than great. The concept and idea of the book had so much potential but the author didn't exploit it to its full ability. It was disappointing that despite having such amazing characters with such a beautiful, intimate connection the book just didn't get to me like I expected it to. I absolutely loved the idea of the book inside the book. All The Roads Between was such great book that I think I enjoyed it more than Swear on This Life itself. So I guess my main problem with the book is that Renée Carlino spends so much time harping on about Emerson and Jax's story that she barely pays any attention to Emiline and Jase once they grow up. I don't need the entire book to circle their relationship, but I sure as hell would love to see more of the intelligent, heart warming and compassionate Jase that the book described. Throughout the present section of the book all I saw was the cocksure Jase with his sexy shut eating grin. I knew they still had that connection that helped them go through all the shit in their childhood, but none of it was ever there. I would have loved the book much more if I could actually see myself thinking and acting the way Emiline was and to do that I actually needed to read something about her thought process. You'd think that when you meet your abusive, alcoholic father after 12 years the theatrics and tears and drama would be on high alert. Not what I got. Fine maybe the author was trying to show a more realistic situation but after everything about her childhood i would have liked something more than a diner meal. My biggest issue with the book though , was the habit of the author to add absolutely unnecessary shit situations to i dunno find a way to delay and give better reasons for Emiline's decisions. Like really why would you add that stupid part about Trevor being a drug addict. If that was added to raise awareness I would have loved it, but all it did was WAIT I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT IT DID.
The issue was that All The Roads Between described such a beautiful relationship but like they say fiction isn't reality, the relationship of the protagonists in the present couldn't even come close to living up to what I was expecting.
And I'm sorry but can I just say this, was that even an ending? She went to Los Angeles from New York, he opened the door, said that it had taken her long enough, they got pregnant and lived in a house without cable forever omggggg so cute after all those 320 pages of shit that you just threw at us

I’m a wee bit conflicted.
The story itself was chock full of emotion, and had me sprinting through the book, but the prose left a little to be desired. The format of the book was unique and interesting but I must say that the ending was anti-climactic:(
I needed more moment with Jase and Emily figuring out their relationship face to face, rather than through the book. It just ended too abruptly and I wanted much, much more.
Regardless, considering how fast I read this book and how hooked I was, I feel like I owe it at least this.

3 hours ago, I was exactly halfway through this book and I swore that I was going to bed. After fighting with myself for around an hour, I picked it back up and kept on reading till the end. I HAD TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED! Sleep wasn't as important as knowing how this ended. This. Is. Perfection. My feelings while reading where all over the place. One minute I was smiling, the next I was clenching my fingers together to stop my heart from aching, and the next I was crying. Only to turn the page and start the roller coaster ride all over again. SotL is utterly unique because it's a book within a book. It's unlike anything I've ever read before. Without giving away any spoilers, I can only say......This story is about true love and fate, when it's released later this year, buy it and devour it. It's perfection.
