GUYS HELP. I want everyone to read this book omfg I’m legit sobbing. I didn’t not cry during the read but the second I closed it everything I read truly hit me and I am hyperventilating. It’s happy it’s sad it’s scary it’s everything I could have ever asked for. Better than before we were strangers. I know I have been manic with my rating and giving things to many stars but I’m begging you to trust me. I have pics of me crying if I could insert I would. Legit the best romance I have ever read.
This is a really beautiful story that I wish I could write :(

Okay so I mostly enjoyed this but I really think it had the potential to be even better.
The plot is lovely: childhood friends in dysfunctional families who become more than friends and by circumstances they get separated. Then Jase writes a book for Em when they are in their 20s telling their story and to heal and this brings them back to each other's lives.
I enjoyed it but I feel like it could have been handled better. For example, I feel like the conversation when Em and Jase reunite for the first time is so short and clipped and a bit disappointing? Also their first kiss after all those years really deserved better writing and more details and emotions but it wasn't there.
And Em waiting SO LONG to read the last chapter was so frustrating. A real reader does not do that I'm sorry that just was not realistic. You have one chapter left and you read that IN THAT SAME INSTANT.
Great plot, not so great execution.

Really enjoyed this. It was something different and a higher rated read which I feel like I haven’t had in a while. I thoroughly enjoyed the concept of Jackson writing a book for him in her pov. A lot of Boys of Tommen elements to it, I loved their childhood years chapters. The time jumps didn’t bother me as it wasn’t necessarily formatted as dual timeline the way the past time was worked in through being Jackson’s novel was very enjoyable.
Fast paced book and I loved both Jackson and Em. Trevor, Ems boyfriend was like annoying but didn’t bother me too much cause honestly she didn’t care about him and he just kinda did nothing.
I can’t believe Jase and Em didn’t meet in the present time until like over 50% into the book. I wouldn’t stand for that in any other book between love interests but the fact it didn’t bother me in this book shows how good all the other writing was. And when Jackson entered the present timeline his cocky personality and his pining over Em and how he said she was the only one for him had me kicking my feet, loved his behaviour.
This book made me feel all the emotions, the dialogue was funny at times too. And the. The ending her making peace with her father was so sweet and the ending of Jackson’s book with the character dying had me terrified I did think it was foreshadowing that Jackson was sick in real life too but thank his he wasn’t. I also liked that when Em met her mother she was so indifferent towards her because it was realistic that not everything for them worked out with a happy ending.
Also Trevor having a drug addiction and going to rehab and being clean then liking his personal trainer was sweet too. I’m happy he is going to get more out of his life.
The ending was so sweet but my flaw of this book is that they truly only got together in the last few pages and I could’ve read more about their older life together except for just the epilogue.
But overall great read, couldn’t put it down and just what I wanted right now.
