Inception-y with a book inside of a book. Didn’t love the love triangle. Did love the long lost love found, though.
This is the second book that I’ve read by this author, and just like the first - I DEVOURED IT. Contemporary romance isn’t usually my go-to genre, but I’ve read a lot of Colleen Hoover (and a few other authors) lately, and there’s something about Carlino’s works that put her at the top of my list. A lot of this book was sad, a lot of it was cheesy, but all in the best ways possible. I connect with this story so deeply. There was a love triangle, yes - but it was done well. This novel was so sweet and heartfelt and I’ll probably have a book hangover from hell.
LOVED. Couldn’t put it down. Emi and Jackson’s novel story was heart wrenching.
I loved most of the book but still don't understand why Jase waited so many years.
This book. This books was amazing. I've been dying to read it since I first came across the blurb months ago. This is a new author for me, and she certainly didn't disappoint.
The concept of a story within a story really worked for me. It was an interesting twist on the typical flashback. I liked that even though this is a romance, the book really focused on Em and her journey, rather than the relationship between her and Jase. While there was certainly lots of emotion, there was no drama for the sake of drama.
If you're considering reading this one, I strongly encourage you to pick it up. I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed.

A few people have recommended Renee Carlino to me because of my love of Taylor Jenkins Reid so I snatched it up at the library when I was picking up all of my thriller reads for October. I am so glad I did because it was just the escape I needed after reading The Good Daughter. It is a classic second chance love story told in a very unique way that kept me turning the pages as fast as I could. If you are looking for a quick contemporary love story, this would definitely be a good option. I look forwarded to reading more from this author! 3.5/5⭐
A quick but great read, made me tear up a little at the end
Imagine reading a book and realizing it was about your life!!! I really enjoyed this storyline. I didn't love the narrator on this audiobook though. I believe that took a little from the story for me as the narrator sounded much older than I imagined Emiline to be. Overall though, the story made up for it.
