Full review to come.

Interesting set up, but I found that the lack of present day obstacles made their relationship feel inevitable and dull. I also found the two male characters to be incredibly two dimensional.

Great anticipation. Poor delivery. I very much preferred ‘Before we were strangers’ and wished so much for this book to be the same but it disappointed. I teared a bit towards the end but there was nothing much to it. I think the book lacked depth but it did present a good style of narration. I liked that he loved her so much that he wrote a book for her to heal. That tugged at my heart strings but it just wasn’t enough for me to be emotionally drawn in.

3.5 stars?

I was much more invested in the latter half of the novel! I didn't like how 2/3 of the book is a book within a book! I loved how Carlino transitioned from past to present in Before We Were Strangers, but this one was boring and I didn't like the way the book within the book was written! Yet, Carlino's books are addicting and I couldn't stop reading! I loved the second half, and quite frankly, that's what saved this book from being two stars, buuuut, I still felt like the ending was rushed and everything was quickly swept under the rug so Emeline and Jase could have their HEA! Ugh, an epilogue to the epilogue would be nice!

I didn't hate this one, but I also didn't love it. Em was a bit frustrating at times because it was obvious that she wasn't in a great relationship, but stayed in it despite her feelings. I really liked the book within a book aspect, especially knowing how heart breaking it was. The ending of the story was really sweet and felt like a perfect ending.

So cute... I finished it in one day.

Ugh my heart
T swift song : Mary’s song <3

this was a sweet deep book. I loved how em took time to figure herself out and jase didn’t push anything.

wow i absolutely devoured this one! full body chills and just such a heartbreakingly beautiful story with a delicious hea!

This book will hit you right in the feels. A story of two kids on a dirt road coming back together in what I would say is incredible story telling. I was left hooked after the first chapter and couldn't put it down until I finished. What a beautiful story that will always stay with me! Couldn't recommend more!
