Bought it for the pretty cover. Enjoyed the story well enough though. I liked the combination of a light and humerous love story with suprisingly dark and  kinda horrifying subplots/scenes. Like some of these things feel like they came from a horror novel but somehow it fits in with the otherwise lighthearted writing and characters.

I am ecstatic that I finally have MXTX's books on my bookshelf! And while this is not the smoothest translation, I don't care. I this series so much, this is one of the best slow-burn romances of all times and the characters are some of the best. Xie Lian and Hua Cheng play off each other so well and the mysteries in this are so intriguing. If you're looking for a series with romance, mystery, horror, and heart, this is the series for you!
