Despite the content of this story being quite disturbing, I really enjoyed the story line and the message behind it all. This is my favorite type of book. After reading this, I went down a rabbit hole of other, similar books and i never looked back. If you are not triggered easily and love a dark and twisted story, then this book is for you.

"Some boy would've used me, taken me for granted, ripped my heart out. At least Strane gave me a better story to tell than theirs."
I ended up not finishing this one. While the subject matter is important, I’ve already read a number of #MeToo stories, and this didn’t feel like it added much new for me personally. The pacing was also on the slower side, which made it hard to stay engaged. I can see its value for readers new to the topic, but it just wasn’t the right fit for me.

This was a difficult one to read but my god does it pack a punch. You’ll be repulsed by the male abuser, you’ll want to shake some sense into Vanessa and you’ll struggle to get through some of the descriptions of rape but if you’re ready to read something like this, it really is eye opening.
