Who doesn’t love a great sports romance where the MMC is a single dad! Me that’s who! I love a good single dad trope but add a nanny to the mix and that makes it even better. A baseball player desperate to find a new nanny to care for his 5 year old, finds more than a caring nanny but also a new love. I really enjoyed this book it was heartwarming and enjoyable and such a fun time. If you enjoy a great sports romance this is such a fun one to read.

Thank you NetGalley and Dreamscape Media for the Advance Listeners copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Throughout all the books so far Emmett has been very anti-relationships & now we finally know why!

I loved how supportive Emmett’s family was….in their own way. I 1000% think when his mother was interviewing the potential nanny candidates she took one look at Hazel and said “yes this will be my future daughter in law” 😂

Hazel was absolutely born to be a mother & part of a big family. Watching Emmett be the amazing father he is, there was no chance she wouldn’t fall in love with him. I truly don’t think Emmett stood a chance either. He just had to be willing to open himself up again & once he did it was all over for him.

This series has absolutely been the sweetest so far….and Brock???? I cannot wait to read his story after all the little snippets of him we got in this book!

"I don't feel very brave," she (Hazel) confesses in a whisper.
(Emmett) "That's often when we are the most courageous, when we don't feel it at all."

DID NOT FINISH: 68%

Stopped at 70%, tried to stick it out but I just couldn’t do it anymore. Narration was AWFUL on both sides, writing was so juvenile and progressed too quickly. They had like 3 interactions and suddenly they’re in love? Dude was all against opening up to people, was worried about the media, and suddenly he’s thinking about forever with her after one kiss and is ready to give the media a story? And wtf is the backlash his 5 year old child going to get in kindergarten??? Is she going to be “teased” because her dad has a new girlfriend? Give me a fucking break.

This was such a sweet romance! Hazel’s desire for a love story, marriage, and a family was so relatable, and I found the chemistry between Hazel and Emmet to be incredibly realistic.
There were definitely some classic Hallmark-style moments that made the story even more gripping. I appreciated the single-dad aspect, as well as the inclusion of an age gap. Honestly, I forgot about the age difference while reading. It wasn’t a major focus in their relationship, which made it feel natural and unforced.
Overall, this was a fast, easy read. As always, Annah Conwell delivers a charming, closed-door sports romance that leaves you smiling.
