Love these books! Will always be a favourite programme but the books are so much better! And read it on sitting, don't get me wrong these aren't perfect, but I adore reading them so definitely a 5* read for me

The character of Agatha Raisin is a little bit cartoonish in this first of the series; there are now more than 30 books/stories and a television series, so perhaps the writing takes on a little more depth as time goes on. I enjoyed it enough to try another one, but it's not in the same class as, say, G.M. Malliet's St. Just series.

Lots of fun to listen to. Light and easy. I really enjoyed that it centered mostly on village life with a mystery as part of it. The only downside for me was the character Rob and I hope he won't be in all of the future books. I'm looking forward to trying the next one in the series.
