I can definitely see how this book is so loved and why it’s “the blueprint” for enemies to lovers. I really enjoyed it.

"In vain I have struggled. It will not do. My feelings will not be repressed. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."

This is just a story about people writing a shit ton of letters and visiting each others houses? I adore the dialogues but that’s about it. I liked the Darcy/Elizabeth storyline and enjoyed their scenes together.

What a book! I have to admit, I was a little reluctant to read it, and kept putting it off for a long time as I have watched the 2005 adaptation of it already, and feared that that would prevent me from enjoying the
novel to its fullest. I was more than glad to find that my enjoyment of the novel wasn't lessened by that at all, and was surprised by all the differences between the novel and the film.

"What think you of books?" said he, smiling.
"Books-oh! no. I am sure we never read the same, or not with the same feelings."
"I am sorry you think so; but if that be the case, there can at least be no want of subject. We may compare our different opinions."

The scene presented above, in my opinion, perfectly describes eliza and darcy's personalities. During that scene, eliza questions at darcy's betrayal of
his supposed friend wickham, but darcy's pride prevents him from clarifying what actually happened.
He then desperately tries to change the subject already enamored of miss bennet, and instead asks her about what he thinks is favorable to her, books. However, eliza's prejudice directly kills the conversation before it even starts, claiming that
they would never read the same kind of books, and if did, their opinions would be for sure completely opposite. Darcy still persists and offers that they compare their opinions nonetheless, but eliza claims
to be too distracted for that. This scene presented for the first time darcy's despair and vulnerability towards elizabeth; and though very strong at the beginning, it's wonderful to see how both darcy's
pride and elizabeth's prejudice gradually dissolve throughout the book and are replaced with a great deal of respect and admiration instead.
A great book that should be read by everyone. Absolutely love it!
