I finished this book at 2 in the morning because I just couldn't got to bed without having finished it. I saw the movie when it came out a few months ago, which definitely gave me a great visual, and helped me get into the book more. I loved seeing the transformation of Tris within the pages, and how she began as Beatrice, and ended as a completely different person. I'm excited to read Insurgent next!

I was more impressed with this than I expected. Since it appeared after the Hunger Games (I read the first of that trilogy with Battle Royale always in my mind) I wasn't interested in yet another dystopian teen book about some girl fighting the system. But seeing parts of the movie made me wonder if the writing was better. It was.

One of the best books I have read in a really long time. I was in love with the hunger games and thought that nothing would beat it, I read this and it became my number one favorite book!!! I think anyone who reads it, will love it and will be dying to get their hands on book 2, insurgent!

I ❤️ FOUR

I honestly don’t know why I didn’t read this before, it was so good!!

It’s been a while since I’ve read a dystopian book, so it’s really refreshing to read something of sustenance with good writing. There was never a dull moment in the novel and there was a perfect mix between frantic action scenes vs calmer character development scenes. I especially like that Tris actually has a personality, because sometimes in books with a major “world” problem as the plot the main character seems to get lost and become more of a symbol than a character. Tris is likeable, understandable and easy to resonate with, which I really enjoyed.

Now I am going to watch the movie (Theo James slay
