DNF at 44%

It breaks my heart to DNF! I have loved this authors books which, until now, have been fun and hilarious vacation rom-coms. This book is a sharp departure (it’s much more serious and less funny) and boring.

I’m generally not a fan of “second chances” stories either. I should have quit sooner

Perfect for me

A woman trapped in suburbia gets to go back to her life touring with a band, and the hot rock star who was her best friend? Perfect for this elder emo kid who misses that music life.

This was….pretty crappy. I mean the *idea* was fun but the suspense regarding the character backstories felt forced. I think the leads were meant to be clearly smitten and quick witted but again, it just wasn’t landing. Meh.

2 1/2*…very funny at the start, and I really wanted to like it, but it just fell flat for me. Also, the main character seemed a bit dim…
