I enjoyed this book a lot. I loved Cade. Some spice but not too spicy, hot. I liked their relationship and development

This was a good enemies AND lovers but all the talk about country and patriotic was sooo cringe. Also the grovelling wasnt enough for me. He should have crawled and be miserable for longer.

First off, even though it's obvious now from reading the book that it's not the first in the Tarnished Empire series, why does it seem that way on Goodreads and Amazon? A lot of background information came up with the main and supporting characters and each time it had me more and more confused which I didn't like. I also felt like the story was a bit repetitive in the sense that Izzy saying she was going to stay away from Cade, but then falling right back into bed with him with really no push needed. After a few of the same type of scenes, it got old real quick.
Moving on to the characters when it comes to Cade, I felt like with a bit more character development he could be a favorite of mine but I was on the fence about him here. But lemme tell you ladies smth the ghostface mask e scenes were IT. I wasn't a huge Izzy fan. I appreciate her strength overcoming her drug addiction but felt like that was really her only identity. Now Lucas is bae fr I want him as my bestie he was real and funny.
Also bug the cat slayed there was so much character and emotion from bug
Overall the book was mid and could've had so much potential.
