Corrupted Chaos

Shain Rose

3.8 AVERAGE

Complete chaos- and I was here for it.

Izzy and Cade are forces of nature, and when they get together it’s as the title states- chaos. The two of them might be volatile together but truly it’s in the best way. Cade becomes absolutely feral over her and I was squealing during some of the scenes towards the end where he claims she owns his soul. Just so good. Izzy struggles with addiction, has been sober for nine years but during that time has basically suppressed her feelings in fear that it could tip her over the edge. She isn’t able to hide them away with Cade though, he makes her feel everything.
I did get annoyed that the conflict at the end is the “I’m leaving for your own good” trope. That always makes me mad but it obviously worked out in the end and thankfully it wasn’t dragged out.
Also- the steam in this book… is melt your kindle hot.

Utterly good chaos

From the beginning this had me in a vice grip. The

⭐️3.5

I’m actually surprised this is rated as highly as it is. I ended up DNFing it 88% of the way. I could have probably finished it out but it just felt so weirdly angsty.

The beginning was a rough start with a lot of discussion of Cade being so powerful and it’s reiterated multiple times how amazing he is but it just felt weirdly rushed with no personality or much of a background other than he’s so powerful and so is his family.

Then we get Izzy who is supposedly a hacker and the synopsis discusses her working side by side with him but like…… where? It just was so vague in places that felt like could have keyed up the book a little and helped with building a background for them. Plus the background that was there just wasn’t it. Lots of holes in it and rushed job for sure. The book had so much potential but it just fell flat on that aspect.

The majority of the book is spice which I’m absolutely okay with but then randomly picks up more plot about 70% of the way and then back to angst and I just couldn’t anymore.

Just a very rushed, flat, and blah writing.

So unfortunately it has received the sad 2 star rating.

I need to stop getting sucked into reading books because someone posted a snazzy scene in a reel on insta

Was the book spicy?! 1000% yes

I don't think I was expecting to laugh so much with this series. But this book was a lot of laughs and a lot of fun to read
