This just wasn't for me. I got about 18% through and I think the smut in it is probably great (that the impression) but I found the dialogue confusingly bad. I just couldn't follow it.

Another emotional hit that will keep you engaged wondering what direction we will head in next. I will admit reading about Izzy’s character in the previous book I wasn’t a fan of her because even after everything she still wanted Dante to be hers even knowing the feelings between him and her sister, yes, I know they had things to work out and Izzy’s work history with Dante made them close but after that many years and nothing happened “he’s just not that into you” I digress. I knew at the end of that book that Cade would be the one to get underneath Izzy’s tough skin, but that would take some time. Cade is tough, a tad controlling, yet I loved his jerk type ways, and I may be the only one, but I like him over her. Don’t get me wrong I enjoyed Izzy and her strength it’s just at times she was frustrating. The suspense and storyline were one that kept me glued to my seat devouring it all. Overall, this was another hit by this author, and I enjoyed it.

Plot holes/weird discrepancies all over the place aside, this book was a whole lot of fun. If you don't take it too seriously this is a pretty fast-paced, feisty, smutty and sometimes silly ride.

Nine years. This man watched and stalked her for nine years. The dedication. I loved Cade and Izzy’s dynamic, they really brought out the best and the worst in each other. He made her feel everything she needed to feel. He made her be herself. And she made him human. She made him realise he wanted a future with her in it. Enemies to lovers and they work together? He’s a mafia man turned businessman. Say less. The fact that this man was jealous BUT HE STILL let another man join just to make her happy. He never shares but he would for her. I usually would hate a scene with OM or OW drama but this one scene lives rent free in my head. I really should hate it. I really wanted to. But damn Cade. He really did everything he could to make her happy. If that ain’t love I don’t know what is.

He literally pissed her off because he loved how angry she got. He forced her to face her emotions and loved how messy and chaotic she was. He loved her the most when she was herself and not pretending to be someone she’s not.

Addiction and grief were explored really well. I started off reading the Hardy brothers books so I knew this couple and I really wanted to know how they got together. I’ll probably read Shain’s other books. The first book I read from Shain wasn’t great but I’m glad I’ve read a few more now and can say I really do enjoy her books. I love the text thread with all the siblings. The banter is sooo good. And I love all their reactions to each other while they each fall in love. It’s the overprotectiveness and love.

wanted to like this one. I saw a tiktok promoting it and loved the tropes but I couldn’t get past the pacing of the story and the main character. the writing felt juvenile and so did the character
