1* because I like Izzy and Lucas' friendship. Otherwise a huge letdown. All through the brothers series i liked Cade and Izzy and wanted to read their story but this just wasn't it. It always seemed like chore to read and took 2 1/2 weeks to get 85% in. And I love a good rough relationship where all parties are consenting, but as soon as Izzy hit Cade in anger, then preceeded to do it again and again, I was out.

I think I accidentally ended up reading this series in reverse order, but it was still ok. I read Corrupted Chaos first due to the STEM FMC and MMC, and then I trickled backwards out of curiosity for the backstories of the other characters, but not out of necessity. Some of the spice is a little aggressive, but the plot is ok.
Corrupted Chaos is a stand-alone in the Tarnished Empire by Shain Rose. I absolutely loved this book and I could not put it down. The story was fast-paced. This book follows the story of Izzy Hardy and Cade Armanelli. The plot was unique and interesting. The enemies-to-lover trope was done so well in this book. I lived for their bickering. I loved Cade's bossiness, I found him very attractive from the beginning. Izzy is wild and exactly like him. I loved her friendship with Lucas. I loved how close she is with her Twin sister and brother-in-law. Her brothers were so protective of her. Her family was amazing. The spice in this book was outstanding. I loved how protective and possessive Cade is of Izzy. Their chemistry was amazing. I loved the epilogue
"It always matters. Respect makes a person work harder. Just because you’re their boss and they might fear losing their jobs doesn’t mean they are going to do the job well. Haven’t you ever heard that?"
"Even if she hid it from the world, she couldn’t quite hide it from me. Izzy was a mess. Dirty. Filthy. Chaotic. Beautiful mess."

Honestly… this read like a fanfiction work of a hormonal 15 year old. Not much to add.
