This is the next part of Carter and Aria’s story and it was amazing and kept me interested from the start, I couldn’t get enough and definitely a page turner!! The ending leaves me begging for the next part!! I can’t wait to continue their story! The storyline flows seamlessly and written very well. I highly enjoyed the story and would recommend to others!

I still hate Carter a lot.
I was so annoyed at how he just loves hurting Aria in situations where she needs help and support and not torture. All he does is a trauma bond her. He hurts her and then he comforts her after. It's so sick and disgusting. I truly hate him and don't think that can ever change. He is truly despicable.
I liked Aria way more in this book even if she annoys me most of the time. I get that she needs to do stuff to survive but I hate how she enjoys it. It doesn't seem realistic to me.
I didn't really enjoy this book and was only going to give it one star. The ending bumped it up to two stars. I really liked how Aria finally took a stand against Carter for real and is trying to do something. I just hope this isn't just for show and that she truly means what she is doing now.
To summarise my experience so far, I was truly disgusted through most of the book. It's just sick. This series should not be promoted as a romance. This reads like a thriller to me. A woman trying to survive and slowly losing her mind and telling herself she loves the man hurting her to make the pain easier to sustain and to be able to disassociate from a horrible situation. Also a man so lonely and damaged that he feels the need to control a woman to inflict pain and revenge on her father. Then grew to tell himself he cares about her, just because he felt lonely before her. This feels way more realistic than what I got. If this had been the way the book was promoted I would have given it a much higher rating.
This series truly does portray a heartwrenching story of unstable mental health, abuse and trauma. It's NOT a love story and shouldn't be romanticized.
On a positive note, I loved Addison. I loved her and Aria together and hope they become friends. It did end on a great cliffhanger thought. I hope Aria keeps her newfound attitude in the next book.

what a INTENSE ride!!!! This book was absolutely freaking amazing, I could not put it down once I started. Willow most certainly have a way with words and the worlds that she creates are magical, they make you feel like you are right there living the life of the characters. I am absolutely in love with Carter and Aria and can't wait to see how their relationship grows

Okay, okay. I’m just going to jump right into this review. We pick right back up on were Merciless ends and just the flow from one book to another it was just fantastic. We learn a little more about both of their backgrounds. I love the little pieces of understanding we get about Carter and Aria and more than that I LOVE being in their minds. I love the way each of them thinks. No matter who’s POV we are reading, I am always rooting for them and wanting the best possible outcome for each of them. Nothing is fast-paced, but we aren’t walking as slow as a snail either. I think the pacing of this series is perfect. I think that the things that have happened in both this book and the first book, would be realistic timing-wise.
We are still in the dark as to why Carter is still going through with all of this, with our poor sweet Aria, though I do have my suspicions. I can't wait to dig deeper into his delicious mind and find out all of the reasons he's doing this. My favorite, Aria is going through some turmoil and truly battling with herself on how she feels about everything, especially Carter. I love being in Aria’s perspective because everything she is feeling is real and genuine and I can so relate with her and sympathies.
Honestly, parts of this book gave me full-body chills, and no I don’t mean bad full-body chills (True Crime Junkies you know what I’m talking about), I mean the delicious kind of full-body chills. Where you know something so wrong, but oh so good, is going to happen and it does and it leaves your heart bursting with so much happiness. Do you ever just read something and think “How am I ever going to read anything else ever again?” I mean the detail and description that Willow Winters uses in her books is just crazy. I don't know how I didn’t find her books sooner. Willow Winters is a writing genius and I truly mean that. It’s just everything about this book is fantastic.
I can't think of anything I didn't love about this book. It’s additive, kept me on my toes, intense, and I just can’t wait to dive into Book 3 as soon as I finish writing this review.
