I love this series so much and I love the finality of it. It will go down as the absolute scariest, most brilliant horror for children I’ve ever read.

This was wonderful, as always. But the ending was a little too abrupt. I could have used 50 more pages to really make the story complete.

Honestly I'm so disappointed. I loved this series so much and it just felt like 50 pages were scrubbed right from the climax. It feels like Arden just got bored or uninspired, gave up on telling the story and just ended it. It's also baffling because she sets up so many unanswered plot points in this one that never get resolved. What is the Smiling Man? Who does he answer to? Why is he lonely? Why does it feel like he is also trapped?

I loved the first three books and I love these characters, but I can't give this book more than two stars. There's too much missing, like it got published too early.

Perfectly spooky
