I was talking to one of my friends, Sara, about how I really haven't found a whole lot of books yet this year that have wowed me. And that's when Sara told me about Brittainy C. Cherry.
And I was hooked.
I have a slight Colleen Hoover obsession and no author has gotten close to it. But this book really tugged at my heart.
I have a weird thing about student relationships with teachers. I'd read a few books (including a Co-Ho) that touch on the subject, and it's already a little uncomfortable.
But throw that out the window, because this is not that story.
I fell in love with Ashlyn and Daniel Daniels (yes, that is totally his name). I love their story, but more so I loved the other relationships that Ashlyn formed when moved to Wisconsin to live with her dad.
This book stole my heart. And I loved every second of it.

DNF at 53%.
I without a doubt believe that 13-15 year old me would’ve been crazy about this book. 23 year old me? Not so much.
The only thing that kept me reading to 53% was Gabby’s notes she left for her sister. The, “You’re doing great, kid”, part of her letter gave me so many emotions. I’m pretty sure I teared up after the first letter Ashlyn read.
Ashlyn and Daniel’s relationship was quite juvenile in a lot of areas. Many times I felt the only thing tying them together was their grief. Also throughout their dialogue together the relationship felt quick and forced. The first half was very sweet. There were a lot of, “Awww” moments within the first half. Maybe too sweet? Again, I think this is where teenage me would’ve loved this immensely but adult me wants more than the sugary coated goodness.
I do appreciate the conversations created around grief and how one learns to cope with the process of grieving a loved one. From what I read in the first half there were many take aways someone could implement in their own life.
Although I couldn’t bring myself to complete the remaining half of this book I did felt is was well enough done to have 2 stars.

Well, shit. I haven't cried reading a book in a while, but this one did it. Sweet, sweet story that I'm sure will stay with me for a while.
*****FIVE IF I COULD GIVE MORE I WOULD STARS*****
There are books that leave a mark, some fade into categories and the story line and characters blend. This book will never be one of those books. I have never been more grateful to an author just for writing. Thank you to the author for writing a book that reminded me why I loved to read. She created a world and connected us to amazing characters. I’ve never felt so envious of two characters. So envious of the truest and purest form of love that they experienced. This book was both heartbreaking and heartwarming. It was so real and true and painful, I cried so many times and yet I’m still so thankful for the book in a whole. If you’re deciding whether or not you should read this book, do it. Its so good, I promise you’ve never read anything like it and if you have leave a comment and tell me all about it. It’s a tear jerker but in its perfect form. It’s an amazing book and will probably go down as one of my if not my favorite book.
The characters: 5/5
Plot: 5/5
Romance: 5/5
HEA: Yes
No cheating or other people drama
Read it and Enjoy!

I have never been more in love with a book. I felt every emotion reading this book and felt so connected with the characters. Ashlyn is so relatable and the love story between her and Daniel is perfectly written.
“You don’t deserve to be someone’s secret. You deserve to be the chorus to a person’s favorite song. You deserve to be the dedication in their favorite book.”
What happens when you put off writing a review? You forget everything! This sucks.
One thing's for sure: I would forever read and love whatever Brittainy C. Cherry writes.

3'5 Un libro bonito, emotivo por momentos demasiado cuqui y otros demasiado dramón. Creo que depende de la época en que se lea puede gustar más o menos.
