First off thank you so much to Books of Matches Media and the author for a copy in exchange for an honest review!

This book was super interesting, but also super heavy, which can be good. The writing was really good so it made it well done!

There were so many amazing, different characters! I loved reading through all of their eyes and povs! At first it was a bit confusing to keep all the characters straight because there were so many of them, but I eventually could keep them straight and fell in love with them! I love how all their stories started to entangle and how it was done, such amazing writing!

This world was super cool! I think the world building could have been done a bit better. I didn’t love how it was all dumped at the beginning with more sprinkled into the story, I would have liked for it to be actually incorporated in the story more. Although, I do get why it was done this way, this was a massive world with a lot of areas and history and characters, so it would have probably been difficult and very heavy if it was given to you actually in the book.

I talked a bit about characters all ready, but the character relationships were just so interesting! I loved them and seeing these people interact from different lives was really cool! And all the twist, so crazy and so good!

This book had a lot of Game of Thrones vibes in it, an amazing world, really wonderful characters, and I highly recommend it!

A thoroughly enjoyable book, that grabs you from the very beginning. The characters are easy to follow (but not boringly easy to like!), and their adventures are many and varied which keeps the book interesting.

Boring story, annoying narrator, quiet recording

*this e-arc was sent to me by the publisher to give an honest review in return*

I liked this book. It’s about four brides who have disappeared and has started a rebellion and now the kingdom is out of control. I love reading high fantasy novels and haven’t read anything good with high fantasy every Seinfeld Crescent City. I enjoyed the world building and the story plot line of this book. The author did an amazing job creating this whole new world and bringing in an original story. I do have to say that the book was a little hard to get into because of all the new information about the world and the pacing being a little slow in the beginning. But overall the writing of this book was well done!

I enjoyed the characters in this book but there are way too many POVs of different characters which are all written in the third person. It was really hard for me to keep up and it felt like you were back in school with new people and have to memorize all of their names. It was really hard to get used to all the new characters and keeping up with their character developments. I’m a reader that prefers 3 at most but not too many or get used to the main characters and then throw in some other povs to balance it out. There is some slow burn romance in this novel but truly it’s not the main factor of the story.

The ending was ok and not my favorite because it had an abrupt ending to it. In this book, I enjoyed all the plot twists that were thrown in which helped keep the story interesting. Mostly that dropped the stars for me was the characters which is a huge deal with me and the slow pacing. I’m still probably going to read the second book since I know the characters better but we will see. I think this book is for those who love complicated stories with many characters. This book is perfect for fans if Three Dark Crowns and Game of Throne.

Holy moly oly y’all. This book is a rich tasting dessert! It is a chunker and full of a whole world! I LOVED it!! It has old love, new love, backstabbing, a horrible baddie, adventure (like, TONS! My adventure reading heart was thrilled!), mystery, magic, deep politics! I could not put this bad boy down! I saw it likened to Game of Thrones and I have to agree! Listen, I love Game of Thrones BUT if that was too dry for you, I highly recommend giving this a shot! There are tons of characters so I’ll stick with my favorites! Lisbet, Ravenna, and Emberley! They are clever young women making choices that will change the whole world. I literally have nothing bad or “off” to say about this book. So freaking good.

**Listened to the Audiobook**

I am going to start with that I LOVE Sarah's books and her universe. I first read The Sylvan and the Sand, a stand alone novel set in the same world as The Kingless Crown, and now I just want more of it all.

Sarah has woven together a beautiful world, rich in history and dramatics. While listening to The Kingless Crown I wanted to piece together all the information I was getting and the existing knowledge I had from the other books. It is absolutely amazing how much Sarah crams into an already large book. The world of the Kingdom of the White Sea will not disappoint readers who love world building, high stakes, adventure, family secrets, cast out magic, and the list goes on and on. I am so excited to venture further into this world both in this trilogy and the plethora of other reading materials from Sarah!

Too confusing. So many characters all having their own plots at the same time, and no Segway into the next one. It was hard to keel track  of who and where we where in the story.

There are A Lot Of Characters in this book so it probably wasn't wise to make it my first foray into audiobooks.

Part One of An Epic Adventure

I ordered this book based on a recommendation of another author I follow. I read all genres of books, but I do tend to enjoy stories with fantasy, adventure, magic and supernatural details. The Kingless Crown has all of these elements.

The world building is quite descriptive with multiple points of view throughout and that’s about the first third of the way. I did have to turn back to the front of the book a few times for the character names and the descriptions of the reaches to remember who everyone was. Once I sorted it all out the story really picked up.

Without any spoilers there are several young adult characters from various parts of the realm, including the highborn eldest daughters escaping a fate that will change all their destinies. The four Lords and Ladies of the realm are preparing their daughters to become queens to the false king. Before that can happen the young women, brothers and friends plan an escape which sets them all on a dangerous unexpected adventure. Exciting read and I look forward to the continuation in The Broken Realm.
