I’m currently salivating over all the illustrations and recipes. I’ve been a lover of ramen but now have a newfound appreciation for every element that goes into a bowl. Now I want to try and make my own!
Super cool, but VERY in depth and slightly over my head and cooking skill/ dedication
A fantastic resource, with lovely bright illustrations and step-by-step directions that are relatively beginner-friendly: tips about what to look for, common issues, storage, and areas for creativity. (Though I'll be honest, I'm a bit intimidated by the sheer scope of the project that is preparing ramen from scratch. Not sure I'll be doing that anytime soon.) I also really appreciate that there are discussions of ramen history and culture throughout, as well as sections from experts, giving context and demonstrating clear respect for this culinary tradition.
This is one of those books that you check out from the public library and love it so much, you have to buy it to add to your own home library. The illustrations were simple yet almost fantastical in the way that elements - people, places, ingredients and tools came together on the page. This is the perfect primer on the history of ramen including the people who made ramen what it is today, an easy-to-follow cookbook, and all of this accompanied by great descriptions of individual ingredients, how they work together, and the magic they create in the bowl.
The only question I had at the end of this book is whether or not there are any women who play an important role in historical or contemporary ramen.

So unique!;!
Love the illustrations more than the facts and recipes! This is not only for kids, but it will cross over for all ages

Really fun, very in depth! A cookbook first, do not be fooled.
5 stars: in a perfect world, every cookbook would be a comic book cookbook.
3 stars: in a perfect world, every comic book cookbook would have more than one vegetarian option (almost everything in this book is meat-filled and fish-filled).
hence, 4 stars.

Pretty cool book about ramen. Enjoyed the history and explanations. Feels like it has greater value as a referential cookbook though. Kind of want to own it
