Reread, All-Time Favorite
I grew up on these books, but I still remember how shocked and excited I was when I went to check the Warriors section of the bookstore out of habit, even though the last book had come out, and there was another one! Little did I know that this series would never stop!
I don't think anything will top the original series, but this series is a close second. I love these characters and the journey to the lake very much. While this one is a lot more setup than anything else, I like getting to know the characters and learning where everything in the clans is at, right now.
Going off memory, I'd say that this is probably my least favorite in this series, but we shall see. I probably haven't reread the New Prophecy books since college, so it has been a hot minute!
I'm listening to the audiobooks as my bedtime books, and I have to say that I really like MacLeod Andrews' narration. BUT I really don't like his interpretation of Graystripe and Stormfur's voices. I don't understand why they both have a lisp of some type. I doubt I could have listened to the first series on audio because Graystripe will forever and always be my favorite.

i love the concept of this arc and i do think it’s very solid in later books, but this one is i think the worst. there’s very little concept of pacing, brambleclaw has a stick up his ass, squirrelpaw is annoying as hell, and you barely hear a peep out of the other characters. side character supremacy because they save the book… the pacing is off too but it’s still a lot of fun once the adventure gets going and the epilogue is genuinely so ominous (and the characters chosen to narrate/be there are such a smart set… it’s all of the old guard watching their home begin to crumble… man)
