Oh, wow. Okay, WOW.
Daaaaaamn, what a great book. I get the hype.

I love a well written book with a good plot and a gorgeous development.
Many scenes gave me goosebumps. It was THAT good. So so soooo well done. Specially the scene in which Mamie tells Elias's story. Gosh, that was everything. LOVED IT.
I liked how issues such as war, power politics, slaves among others are addressed, and how all of this is connected to the importance of remembering, naming and forgiveness.
Never trusted that Keenan boy.

Such an amazing reading. One of the best I've ever read.

This isn’t a spoiler but the book has a lot of sadness in the first 3/4 of it. There is a lot of torture and a lot of death. I was not expecting it to be quite so tortuous, but that is the nature of genocide isn’t it? Still very invested in the characters and their struggles and growth.
