Fonda Lee did it again, even in a short Novella she made me care for a new set of characters. This had the character growth, action, and plot twists that we got in the Greenbone Saga, but just in 140 pages!!! Since this is set before the events of the original series, we get to see some of our beloved characters including Maik Kehn, Maik Tar, Hilo, and Lan (my fav). It was nice to see them before all the pain

Fonda lee has such a gift at making her characters and world feel real. You don’t need to read the green bone trilogy to read this prequel. For a novella this has a rich plot and characters.
