Thank you NetGalley, Harlequin Trade Publishing & the author for the opportunity to read and review this book.

The things that exited me and I loved so much about this book :
- Dual POV
- Just the right amount of spice
- A fun romance about a romance writing looking for romance herself
- The realism in the issues and problems within the book

When I was finally able to, I sat and read this book in one good sitting and couldn’t put it down. The storyline was great, I laughed a lot and I felt the emotion the characters were feeling. Please know that there are a few TW’s in this book of alcoholism and addiction.

This is definitely a pre-order/ready-to-buy book and it needs to be on your reading TBR. I can’t wait for the next book that this author puts out.

Everything felt very high school/juvenile. Relationship dynamics, conversations, interpretations of situations. There was potential there for sure, but it really fell flat very quickly for me.

This is the second (though standalone) story in the series, and the author weaves those past character relationships into the current story, in such a way that if you've read the first book, you're appreciative of it, and if you haven't, you're not confused about who's who, or what's going on. And I think that can be hard to do, without it feeling clunky, but was done flawlessly here. The main story stays the main focus, but there is enough going on with these characters, and all of the people in their lives, that it doesn't feel one dimensional. It really helps you feel like you're getting to know the characters individually, and so you're rooting for them even more as they get closer to one another.

It's a good read if you like:
-Rom-coms
-Best friends brother
-Friends to lovers
-A grumpy-cinnamon roll MMC
-A sunshine FMC

The ending was cute! There was so much happening in this book. I wish the emotions were a bit more fleshed out.

For some reason I just couldn’t get into it, although I’m glad I finished because I do think the ending was really good
