I thought this book was a delight. Lucy Parker has a way of writing with all five senses… I loved that Pet was so tactile and Matthias so visual. I liked how there were layers to this story, and the secondary characters were well fleshed out. I fell in love with some minor characters who hardly showed up at all. I thought Pet and Matthias were cute together, an unlikely romance that was also clearly meant to be. I also deeply appreciated that there wasn’t any dumb miscommunication as conflict… I was expecting that and pleasantly surprised when it just didn’t happen. I had forgotten a lot from Battle Royal, but it didn’t matter too much. If there are any more books in this series I’ll read them.

4/5. Lucy Parker, you have my undying loyalty as a reader. Pet and Matthias were the sweetest couple ever, but this slow burn killed me...the tension was amazing, though. It also made me want to go back and read Battle Royal again. These are kind, lovely characters and I love being briefly pulled into their world.

The glitter bomb heat of the Wands was hands-down the best part of this book. Like, can we have that in real life?!

A sweet and sexy read! I adore Lucy P and was thrilled to have this follow-up couple. I felt cheated; Pet and Matthias' romance was overshadowed by the needless secondary plots.

This could be read as a stand alone, but I would not recommend it.
