Okay after reading this first book I wasn't exactly to thrilled to read the second one. I mean don't get me wrong I liked the idea of the first one but I think it should have been left as a single book not a series. And the love triangle in this book, does not work at all like the last one. I mean to even have a love triangle both characters need to have a strong foundation. With Benson we get that, but with Tavia's non-existent memories of her past lives makes it so Logan is just kinda there. To see the rest of the review on my blog click here.

I don't like love triangles. Especially ones where one of the guys is somehow "fated" to the girl. It makes it unbalanced and like the choice isn't really valid if it's supernaturally pushed. I also don't like unmarried teenage sex in YA novels, even if it's just implied and even if they've technically been together since the beginning of time. That said, I'm enjoying this series. This one was less predictable than the first and had more action and info. A good second book, often the second books of a series will fall flat but this one didn't.

This series is fine, but very unmemorable. I remember a vague sense of disappointment with the pacing and characterization, but the plot was OK. There's absolutely no chemistry between Tavia and Logan, and Benson's forced dramatic arc was just meh. Side characters were alright, but I just didn't care about them. This series seems like it needs to focus on the big picture a bit more, and less on the drivel of their teen romances.

Gripping, exceptionally well written. This book, and the series, will have you sitting in your chair for the rest of the day to finish it (as I did). You will not be disappointed.

I liked it but that's about it.
I don't like the personal choices she makes and to be honest I'm happy I didn't read the first one, 'cause I can image I would be more irritated about it then.
Also there was to much happening to fast, it was hard to keep up with one thing because the next was already happening.

Spannender als der erste Teil im großen und ganzen, aber entäuschendes Ende.

So this sequel fell on its face and hey I forced myself to finish this like I did with the other book that I didn't really care for yeah sequels are meant to be a step up and well this one was just boring heck I didn't care for anyone in this book and hey this is the second by this author that I wasn't keen on which is a shame I might as well finish these books now because two books in and one more to go.

Why do I do this to myself.

A summery for Earthquake:

Tavia Michaels is an Earthbound - a fallen goddess with the power to remake the Earth or destroy it. The Reduciata, a rival faction of Earthbounds, has created a virus that is wiping out swathes of the planet. But before Tavia can act on this discovery, she is captured and imprisoned. Huddled in a cell with her eternal lover, Logan, she loses track of the days until they are mysteriously rescued...For Tavia isn't like other Earthbound. As her powers awaken, her centuries-long relationship with Logan is threatened, and when Benson - the best friend who's always stood by her - returns Tavia must again face a terrible choice between those she loves. Can Tavia stop the destruction of Earth and uncover the ultimate truth about the Earthbound before it's too late?

So I'm ending this reading month on a negative note because some books have been brilliant and other have just sucked.

I'm done with this sorry if I sound like a negative nancy in this review.

Not what I'd hoped. This book had the potential to be amazing and it really, really wasn't.
