The stakes get even higher, and not just for the safety of Tavia and her eternal lover Logan. Or even Benson, who I knew wouldn't stay out of the picture long. How could he with that love triangles relationship issues?! But the virus is spreading faster, and earth bounds are being killed by the Reducteria. The Curatoria isn't too be fully trusted either. At the edge of it all is Tavia, goddess reborn, with the secret to the cure and the best hope to saving human life, and the world.

More focussed than the first with a tighter grasp on characters.

I enjoyed Alanna and Thomas, they are the first adult characters in the series to have been given a real sense of autonomy and they help make the urgency a little more real.

The overarching theme of this book is independent choice v pre - determined fate which is interesting.

Tavia's constant mind changing between her two man-candies is at times a little irritating and really weakens her as a respectable character. As the book progresses, she does mature and moves from constant boy crushing to seizing control of her power and making things work for her. I enjoyed this. A solid and grown up development from book 1.

Will look forward to seeing how it ends.

Earthquake gets really science-y with Tavia helping find the vaccine for the virus that has been spreading throughout the Earthbounds.

Characters
I felt like we were never really given any reason to like Logan. There’s this undying admiration for Tavia, but other than that, he’s just a loyal lap dog. I felt like in Earthbound we really got to know Benson. I did LOVE Thomas and Alanna. Give ‘em a minute. I mean, really. GIVE THEM A FREAKING MINUTE. *closes the door*

Daniel was a mix of President Snow and Caesar Flickerman. I really don’t know how else to explain him other than… You know that uncle you have that can be kind of mean but sometimes he says nice things? That’s Daniel. But you always feel like he’s gonna kill you. Hopefully your uncle doesn’t think that about you. Also, his plans with the virus don’t really make sense until near the end of the book. So, there’s that.

Story
Just as good as the first book. It’s edge-of-your-seat but in a slightly different way than the first because instead of running away from the scary people, Tavia and her friends have to work with people who are slightly scary.

I'll tell you the truth,I've loved the first book, but this second not so much;I've been a fan of Aprillyne since Wings and I loved how she ended the story;but with this one,I disagreed with most everything that the main character did.All her choices, the partner and everthing seemed wrong to me and maybe just to me but she seemed a little childish and hypocrite.
I'll read the next book just to know how it ends because if the choices of the character will be as dumb as in this one,I might throw the book out of the window.

I liked the direction this sequel went with the story and the plot twists throughout. The main character sometimes got a bit annoying but the concept of the series is cool.

I think I liked this better than Earthbound, mostly because I had an idea of what was going on. Before I initially had a hard time categorizing the genre/mythology in my head, but now I had a more complete idea with the whole gods thing. Good cliffy as well.
