This was cute and quite enjoyable, but I felt a bit like I kept waiting for the plot to happen. That’s not to say there wasn’t a plot, but it felt sort of…static?

I was happy to get more Hannah in this one, and I’d love to see Hannah and Clem’s story next.

The ending felt a bit rushed but very wholesome, cute read!

Julie Murphy never disappoints, especially with her Dumplin' series (major fan service crossover from previous books included). These books are always so much fun, full of self-love, emotional turmoil, friendship and flirting. Loved the fat rep, the drag theme and how Waylon has to learn that not everybody wants to exclude him but that you can also isolate yourself from people you're afraid might not accept you. Also, by the end Waylon has not figured everything out yet and that's ok.

Read in 18.5 hours at 0.65 speed.
Cute story, in the end prom is only the last chapter and most of the book is preparing for it. I love how Waylon gains confidence to publicly do a drag performance, but didn't like how all along he voices how much he dislikes his fat body.
Clem's jaw drops a lot.
