very interesting even though at times it could be a bit slow. i feel like this novel is very timeless, as it could be applied to today’s society with its scarcity of empathy. i really admired prince muishkin staying pure, kind, and genuine through almost all of his encounters. i don’t know if id say all because of the situation with aglaya and natasia as im still trying to grapple with it, as his manner of living can be seen as a flaw/not very intelligent with how he reacted and the decisions he made. all the characters besides the prince represented corruption in their own right and i was intrigued by the backgrounds of each of them that could explain what led them up until that point. in brief, i will be sitting with this for awhile, going through reviews to see other people’s perspectives, and watching video essays on it.
