Brilliant.

The illustrations in this graphic novel are amazing. Especially the forest with the Black Orchid in it (I love the combination of green and purple used in them). The story is interesting, a bit confusing though and wouldn't be so great without the effect that the illustrations had.

Fantastic art by Dave McKean, as usual. Other than that, I found the story a bit weak, especially compared to other Gaiman works I love. Certain aspects could definitely have been expanded upon more

I really enjoyed this graphic novel - it was ethereal and emotionally melancholic in its tone with beautiful visuals.

Black Orchid is searching for meaning in a body she did not expect to possess, and what should she do with this new life at her disposal? What does she want to do?

This resonates with me at this time in my life, and I would recommend giving this novel a try if you believe such a sentiment would resonant with you as well.

Great art but really weird story.

I didn’t realize this story is part of the bigger DC universe - I just thought DC published it. I didn’t expect to see familiar faces! Anyway, I really enjoyed the story and especially the art. It took me a bit to get acclimated to the comic format, but once I did, the story flowed quickly and excitingly. Even though comics have less words, I could easily recognize Neil Gaiman’s writing. I always seem to escape into his writing, and paired with Dave McKean’s artwork, I was truly immersed.
