Kicked out the pack?! Blamed by her husband. All because she is pregnant. Alexia sets out to prove that this baby is Lord Maccon's child. And along the way, vampires are trying to kill her and the Templars kidnap her.
Enjoying this series immensely. I do hope the baby doesn't ruin everything in the next book.

The reason that this receives three stars and not higher is no fault of Blameless or Gail Carriger, rather that when it comes to 19th Century novels, the adventure novel has never been my favourite. If you've come to this series like I have (pretty cover art aside) it's because novels of the 19th Century form a major part of your read/reading list and Carriger knows her Victorian literature so I wouldn't be put off by this one effort as, given the different tones of each novel, Heartless can be expected to adopt another Victorian genre other than that of the adventure novel. In other words: I'm still looking forward to where and how this series is going to end.

I found it uncharacteristic of Maccon to kick her out, and I think she took him back too quickly/easily

I am still enamored of the series.. I especially enjoyed it's quick and humorous pace...especially after having read one a heavy and tome like book before this one. Looking forward to the next one in the series.
I've been enjoying this series so far. There were a lot of new characters in this book as well as new locations, so there were times when I felt I could use a flow chart. I love Alexia's snark and wit. I like that with each book you find out a little more about what it means to be soulless, the history and lore. I'm really curious to see how the baby stuff works out since soulless usually can't share the same space. And while the baby will be part werewolf, I still wonder if there won't be a bit of a repelling feeling between Alexia and her baby
Estos libros siempre me hacen reir a carcajadas. Aunque este es, de momento, el más flojo de los que leído, plantea unas cuantas cosas interesantes de cara a la siguiente entrega, así que los seguiré leyendo sin duda.
