Alexia is back! With some fancy ladybugs in tow.
Poor Alexia, guys can be stubborn jerks. I'm glad she sets out to prove him wrong! Good girl. And along the way she finds a clockmaker, a yappy dog and pesto. What more could you want?
Blameless gives more insight into Preternaturals and what on earth the "infant-inconvenience" might be. Alexia goes on a grand adventure and shows, again, that she is not a woman to be messed with.
Again she is joined by the wonderful Madame Lefoux and the impervious Floote. I was so excited to learn more about him. There better be more explanation in the next book!
Lyall again shows is extraordinary Beta skills and Conall shows that all men can act like idiots, even if they're werewolves. But he also shows that they can make up for it. There are some interesting twists and I was unable to put this down.
I love Gail Carriger's ever expanding world and love everything she introduces. I can't wait to see what's next!

After the way book two ended, I have to say this was still quite enjoyable. I thought Alexia wallowed for an adequate amount of time, considering the way Conall acted toward her to begin with, and even though she was obviously still heartbroken over what had happened, she compartmentalized enough for it to take a backseat to what was going on. I was a bit disappointed that they seemed to make up rather quickly (which might steer this more toward a high 3.5 rating), but I don't expect a ton from these books because they're so fluffy and overall feel-good in the end. I really enjoyed the romp to Italy, and how things turned out with both Biffy and Akeldama back in London. The narrator's voice for Queen Victoria sounded a bit like Judi Dench, which made me laugh. Looking forward to what happens when the baby finally comes!
This is probably my favorite book in the series. I know most won't agree with that but I just loved it. I was heartbroken over Biffy! I wonder how all of that will turn out. I do think she forgave him too easily. I would have been beyond pissed! Floote, what can I even say? He really came out in this book.
I hated the ending to the second book. I was so angry about the ending to that book, I could not bring myself to pick up this book.
I picked it up for a toppler hesitantly. But I was pleasantly surprised that this installment took a turn towards the first in the series. It was a fun, romping adventure, albeit with some storm clouds over the story. There are flying machines, Templar, mad scientists of all sorts, on top of the usual werewolf/vampire/horrid family/Queen Victoria shenanigans.
I am wondering were the next book now goes, which I never thought I would after the last book. So speaks to the resolving nature of this one.

This book was pretty good. There were several trigger warning such as I loved all the vampire, werewolf stuff and how it all tied together and worked out. I loved Alexia so much and how she tries to keep herself happy even throughout everything happening in her life. Lore Maccon was an ass and I didn't particularly like him. Great read and can't wait to continue the series.
Spoiler
rape, breeding, mistreatment, and death.
Although I did enjoy this book almost as much as the previous two, there were a few more things that bothered me this time. However, it wasn't enough for me to rate it 3 stars since I still enjoyed it a lot.
Blameless has the same humor and the same amazing characters as the previous books, but it did seem a little more repetitive. The vampire threat stayed pretty much the same through the entire book, they were just constantly chased and attacked, they'd win and a few chapters later the same thing would happen all over again.
Another thing that bothered me was how easily Alexia forgave Lord Maccon after how he treated her in the previous book. If the author had intended for this from the beginning she should have made his treatment of her less harsh and unforgiving. It felt like it was glossed over a little bit.
I did really like how we got to see more of the world in this book and I hope this continues. The influence of the supernatural on the history of the world is one of the best parts of this series, in my opinion.
