This was my third read and I’m still just as in love with this series. I did this third read via audiobook so it took a lot longer but I don’t love it any less, Carriger’s world building is so effortless I could write a book on it

It’s my second time reading this and it might be my favourite of the whole series, it just delves into all the characters and fleshes our the backstories and world building so well you barely realise it’s happening, Gail Carriger is so incredibly gifted it blows my mind.

I really don't know what to say at this point, every book so far has been absolutely brilliant. There is nothing better than paranormal steampunk. This one didn't have as much of a cliff hanger as the last but I love the characters so much that I'm not sure how long I'll manage to wait until the next. This series is really putting me behind on my uni reading so I might have to try and hold off a bit.

I couldn't wait to read this one after book #2. This one was a little all over the map and I have to admit I'm not clear on all of the quasi-scientific explanations of the paranormal in this book. But still...found it highly entertaining. I'm ready to get started on the next one!

This novel basically loses one of my favorite aspects of Carriger's writing-- the dialogue between Alexia and Connall. It also adds a little too much slapdashery. Still a lot of fun, but it mainly makes me look forward to the next one.

I enjoy each of these more than the last, and the audio narrator is perfection!

Entertaining as are the previous two. The writing style is growing on me, at first I found it to be abrasive but now its a bit more endearing. The love and sex scenes are as uncomfortable and cheesy as ever though. Enjoying this series more than I thought I would.

Another fun romp, although Carriger does delve into more serious issues than usually in the London storyline, which I liked. This series can be a bit heavy on the whimsy, so it was nice to get a little break every so often. I am glad that everyone is reconciled though.

Interesting development with the baby, but poor Biffy! I'm excited to read the next one, but I'm worried this series is going to start dragging. The horror!!

Alexia has to leave London but danger follows her all the way to Italy. Not much of Lord Maccon (since he and Alexia are in a fight), but more of Floote - fun to see his character developed a bit more.
adventurous funny lighthearted mysterious medium-paced
Plot or Character Driven: A mix
Strong character development: Complicated
Loveable characters: Yes

Excellent series!!
