Imagine living the life you dreamed of and still wanting more; then getting a life you never imagined, yet still wanting more. Well in this book wanting more just may cause you all.
This book is a very very very slow burning thriller. I must admit I’’m not really into thriller suspense books, so if I read them I want lots of action. This book was way too slow for my liking, but had a good plot.
I did enjoy the character development and how you were able to understand why Kai chose to live the life she did. By the end of the story Kai makes everyone reading believe it’s perfectly fine to have needs that one person could never fulfill therefore making room for a second. Even though the main character was wrong the author makes her reasoning very understandable.
Unfortunately I felt the ending was a little over the top and quite predictable.
For those who like suspense or thrillers this may be a good book for you to pick up.
This is definitely a slow burn where there’s a lot of inner dialogue and not much action. Usually these are right up my alley and I will say I enjoyed most of the journey. However, I was just a little underwhelmed by the ending.

I almost abandoned it. Londoners... ya know?
Anyway... it was good. Kept me reading. FOOLED ME! I was so sure I figured it out. I love when that happens!

Both of You by Adele Parks is a masterful domestic thriller that keeps readers guessing. The story follows the mysterious disappearances of two women, Leigh and Kai, whose lives seem worlds apart but are cleverly linked through unexpected twists. Told through multiple perspectives, including that of Detective Clements, the novel explores love, betrayal, and the lies people tell to protect themselves and their families.
Adele Parks excels in creating complex, relatable characters and weaving emotional depth into a suspenseful narrative. The gradual unraveling of the mystery is engaging, and the alternating viewpoints add intrigue and tension. While seasoned thriller fans may anticipate some of the revelations, the book delivers a satisfying blend of drama and surprise, particularly in its gripping conclusion.
With its well-paced storytelling and compelling themes, Both of You is a standout read.

LOTS of twists! The first one shocked the hell out of me!
Leigh Fletcher, devoted stepmum and wife goes to work one day and just doesn't come back, that same week Kai Janssen disappears into thin air leaving behind her husband. Are these cases connected? DC Clements investigates.
This is the first Adele Parks novel I read, I did enjoy it, though I was thrown off by the omniscient narration. In a way it was useful in providing a multitude of character viewpoints, however it did make me suspect everyone. I thought I had a good theory as to what happened and I continued reading because it felt that that theory was becoming more concrete until about the last 5% of the book. The plot twist was brilliant and I was annoyed that I didn't consider that avenue for the story.
I found the characters to be normal, there wasn't anyone that I was particularly interested more in, except for Seb who I felt the most sympathy for. Adele's writing style was engaging and she builds the tension well in certain scenes. There were a few passages I picked up and thought they worked so well as a comment on the society we live in.
If you haven't read an Adele Parks Novel yet, I would deffo recommend starting with this one. It was enjoyable and at one point, I was unable to put the book down.
