What an intriguing plot with some great twists! The first 1/3 or so of the story felt a little slower for me to start mainly because there was a lot of story building that had to be done to describe the two missing women's seemingly very separate lives, but after that there was a pretty wickedly good twist that really kept me hooked for the rest of the story.
This one was fast-paced for the majority of the book and I really enjoyed seeing a troupe that is normally done by male characters carried out by women. It was a great twist on a relatively highly used plot that really bumped things up for me overall. While I did kind of guess what was happening for the last 10% or so, it did have a pretty satisfying ending.
Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin Trade Publishing for providing me with an ARC!

Well this was bloody good - I feel like Adele Parks gets better with ever book she writes! I did see the twist and I did see what was coming yet it didn't make me enjoy the story any less. I was still hooked and didn't want to put it down! I'd definitely recommend this book!
One thing I noticed when starting Adele Parks novel this time around was just how much I was missing her talents when it comes to putting pen to paper, in my opinion, her strength is writing relatable people in relatable situations whilst having the ability to weave a story you won’t forget and recommend to others.

Leigh, a toting stepmother to two boys and caring wife, leaves for her usual work trip to Scotland and no one hears from her again. Mark and his two sons are very concerned about her disappearance and call the police.
Kai, who is married to a rich Dutch husband, doesn’t return home after taking care of her sick mother over the weekend. Daan, her husband, is not as concerned as he should be.
But what do Kai and Leigh have in common? Well, they’re both missing-and seemingly that’s all, until the detectives on the case put all the pieces together.
This book had quite the plot twist at the end. I think it could have been a 5 star read, but (plot twist aside, I liked that) I wasn’t a big fan of the ending. It felt too quick to me, and I wish I had just a bit more.

Both of you
I found myself having mixed thoughts when it came to this book and unfortunately it just didn’t pull through in the end. First of all, it took until around page 120 before I was hooked on the storyline which in my opinion is a bit late in the piece. I also found the sheer amount of writing without any speech on each page overwhelming, I put this down to the lack of paragraphs and the amount of description that is used which did make it a tedious read.
On a brighter note, once I got into it I really did enjoy the storyline and was intrigued. I went into Both of You blindly and I’m glad I did because it made the all the more thrilling. An original story that in the end had me absorbed and shocked despite guessing who the perpetrator was.
Thank you to @hqfiction for sending me an advance copy of ‘Both of you’ in exchange for my honest review.
⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Description- Leigh Fletcher: happily married stepmum to two gorgeous boys goes missing on Monday. Her husband Mark says he knows nothing of her whereabouts. She simply went to work and just never came home. Their family is shattered.
Kai Janssen: married to wealthy Dutch businessman, Daan, vanishes the same week. Kai left their luxurious penthouse and glamorous world without a backward glance. She seemingly evaporated into thin air. Daan is distraught.
DC Clements knows that people disappear all the time – far too frequently. Most run away from things, some run towards, others are taken but find their way back. A sad few never return. These two women are from very different worlds, their disappearances are unlikely to be connected. And yet, at a gut level, the DC believes they might be.
How could these women walk away from their families, husbands and homes willingly? Clements is determined to unearth the truth, no matter how shocking and devastating it may be.

I have been in a bit of a reading slump and have been looking for a fast paced thriller to get me out of it. I scooped this book up at the library and I’m so glad that I did!
Kai Janssen and Leigh Fletcher have gone missing. both happily married. both seem to be living life well. DC Clements is on the case and believes that the two disappearances are connected. spoiler: they are.
I found this book to be fast paced and enjoyable. It was interesting to be reading a book that is taking place in March of 2020 and having the coronavirus lockdown as part of the story. would recommend!

Guessed the ending about 100 pages in, disappointing end to a great story..
