Leigh is happily married to Mark and is raising her stepsons Oli and Seb. Kai is married to wealthy Dutch business man Daan and she lives in a stunning Penthouse apartment. During the same week both these women are reported missing and their husbands are frantic with worry.
DC Clements is the investigating officer. She has a feeling both cases are connected and digs deep to find how. But nothing is as it seems....
This was my first book by Adele Parks but it won't be my last. I enjoyed the fast paced drama, it kept me on my toes throughout and although I did guess who was responsible it didn't spoil my enjoyment at all. Recommended.

A solid mystery thriller! I really liked the twist in the middle, though the reveal of "whodunnit" at the end was perhaps a little predictable. Would've also liked an epilogue to wrap everything up. Also wasn't a fan of the longggg paragraphs, but glad the chapters weren't too long as that might have made it too slow for me.
this was soooo good until the end. very obvious what was gonna happen but it was still somehow lamer than I expected

Really enjoyed this little thriller of a book although I did work out who was responsible about half way through. It’s a really interesting take on double lives and I really enjoyed the characters and narrative of this story and read it in one sitting.
It wasn’t exciting enough, and the ending just didn’t sit right with me but to not spoil it I shall not go into it .
I actually think I like the second book better than the first. Envy is scary!
Kylie’s life is split into two. She maintains both Leigh and Kye’s separate existence until the point where she is found out. Predicted the culprit about 10% of the way in. A good easy beach read.
This was a bit of a rollercoaster read for me. I enjoyed it on the whole but there were times where I’d wish it would hurry up a bit. What I did like about this book was the fact it totally blindsided me early on by turning my expectations of the book completely on their head! I guessed quite early on how some bits were going to pan out but it still didn’t take away from the enjoyment of trying to figure out the whys and what fors. I can’t say I was disappointed with the ending as such but it did leave me a little flat… I don’t want to give too much away but I was just left feeling a bit “is that it?”.
