This was an entertaining quick read. I was cautious at first as the cover turned me off and I'm not a fan of young protagonists being the only ones to be able to save the world (She's just 20). The characters are well written and the action is fast paced. Be prepared to want to dive into the next in the series.
A really fun, unique take on human girl and demon guy. It avoids a lot of tropes in this genre and it was so refreshing! Though unfortunately, it will make you crave super fancy baked goods. I’m excited to see how the mysteries and their relationship play out.

This was an amazing book to read! And I feel so lucky that it was recommended to me, because it's definitely one of my favourite series now!
I'm very new to Urban Fantasy books, and I doubted if I would ever like them. But this book (and Annette Marie) just swept me off my feet, into this fascinating world with demon contractors, sorcerers and mages.
The first half was slow, with enough world building and information. Robin, recently orphaned, moves in with her uncle. Having been shielded her entire life from magic by her parents, she catches glimpses of the family business; summoning demons for contracts. Her curiosity slowly ends up with her breaking one of her uncle's rules: never talk to the demon in the library.
Their interactions had me on the edge of my seat, blushing, and then worried. I loved every bit of their secret talks at the library. And once the action starts picking up, you will not be able to put this book down!
-Robin is maybe one of my favourite characters. She's my sweet soft girl, and I love seeing her grow. She wants and tries to be assertive, push against her anxiety. She's passionate about books and bakes when stressed. Honestly, can I love her any more?
-Zylas.. I'm whipped. He's very mysterious, and it just makes me all the more curious to know about him and his thoughts. I'm constantly on my toes, wondering what his intentions are. And I was 100% simping over him the entire book :') I also loved how he was the smallest and youngest demon to be summoned, but he makes up for it with his cunning nature.
-And the slow friendship (if you can call it that) building between Zylas and Robin was everything. It starts out as mutual curiosity, and then a contract to save themselves. They're both learning to work together, and maybe find trust. And I just love how it's gradual. I love it more than words can explain.
Also Robin feeding him because he likes to try the different foods, while Amalia complains? I loved it.
"He was a demon. He'd obeyed his nature. Profoundly immoral and wicked... An apt description of the demonic psyche.
I knew that. I understood it.
I still felt betrayed."
"By the way Robin, the expression on your demon's face when you called him your partner was fascinating." (when I tell you I went FERAL)
I will shamelessly admit that I'm probably gonna go back and reread this series whenever I needa a good comfort read, I love Zylas and Robin with my entire heart, and I wish more people read this series!

I really enjoyed this. I love that Robin is a book nerd and a lover of baking as these are things I can completely understand. I do wish that the start of the book had moved a tad faster as Robin's inability to deal with any confrontation went on for longer than I wanted to witness.
I liked the demon Zylas he was an intriguing character. I want to see how he grows and changes from his unique contract.
I did love the pieces with the Crow and Hammer and getting to see how things played out from Robin's POV. I cannot wait to see her and the rest of the guild together.
Enjoyed it, can't wait to continue but not my favourite of the series. I was missing my 3 mages.

Annette Marie has done it again!
You should definitely read this book, whoever you are, because this is a book for everyone! Our MC is sweet but strong enough to admit when she makes a mistake, and I really loved reading the story from her point of view. Add in the gorgeous, sexy, badass, hilarious (though his humour develops more as the series continues), wonderful demon, and this book is crazy loveable!
With Annette’s addictive writing making sure that no one can put this book down, you’ll be eager for book 2 about 0.5 seconds after finishing book one! Read this book!!
Plus, for those of you who’ve read Guild Codex: Spellbound, it’s really cute seeing the moments we all remember from Spellbound but from Robin’s POV ;)
Ok, now I need to read book 5 of Spellbound before book 2 of Demonized (yep, there’s a whole order to read them in) so goodbye and read this series!

I'm convinced that through the "protection" deal, she accidentally married him and he doesn't know how to tell her.
