Okay, I don't know what's going to end up happening to Robin, but for now, I REALLY like her character. Okay, she's kind of meek, and she's a total book nerd, but she's the type of person I would have been best friends with when I was growing up. And falling apart into silent tears whenever she encounters opposition from those in power (yeah, I hated her uncle, and I wasn't a fan of the rest of the family either), she reaches out of her comfort zone, becomes friends (of sorts) with Zylus, and even talks back to him (which means she's either brave or stupid, lol). But seriously, the way she and Zylus interact, it makes one realize that it's possible not all demons are alike, just like Twiggy shows us that not all Fae are alike. Does that mean she should trust Zylus? Well, perhaps not--time will tell. But I do love the uneasy alliance they end up and I can't wait to see what happens.
The pacing on this one was perfect, and I loved the banter between Zylus and Robin. I also love how we get glimpses of activities from some of the previous books and how she ends up bringing the Spellbound series and this one together. With the reveal that occurred with Ezra in the previous book, I'm hoping Robin ends up helping (in future books) to find the answers Ezra needs.
Time will tell, but it's possible that I will end up liking this Demonized series more than the Spellbound series.
Such a cool universe with multiple series that crossover. It kind of reminds me of the crossovers between Flash, Arrow, Super Girl, and .... I don't remember them all, lol. Either way, lots of fun.

Demons, mystics, and secrets - oh my! This book was really good. It was definitely a solid start to this series. I haven't read anything else by Annette Marie so I went into this completely blind on what to expect.
I was not expecting a fun romp into a world full of mystics and demon summoning. Zylas was instantly likeable while Robin took a little bit longer to grow on me. The magic system and world was really interesting, but I wanted to learn more about Robin's talent in runes and the mystical stuff and it was really only touched on. I LOVED the demon language. It was so neat and pretty well developed.
Despite all the things I really enjoyed about this book, there were a few things that just seemed a bit off to me. For instance, the fact that Robin was not able to access her inheritance considering her parents were dead and that she upended her whole college path to go into a headlong pursuit for the lost items/will was just mind boggling. Even if there was clause in there that said she couldn't access it until 21, there should have been no way that the uncle had access to the will while she didn't. Will are not often read if not all parties are present. She was sooooo timid. I get it she's shy and timid and it gives lots of room for character building and growth, but she practically was a door mat the whole first half of the book. She tried to be sneaky by getting into the library, but honestly the snooping could have been shorter.

I was looking forward to returning to the Codex universe. Unfortunately, this book left me wanting. The characters are so similar to others in the books and the plot so similar that I really didn't feel like I was reading something new.
ROBIN IS THE BEST. I say this with incredible zest, but also you should know that I don’t say it lightly. I tend to be hard on the heroines in my books but I adore Robin’s quirky, inquisitive personality, her soft heart and her affinity for books and baking. She is such a rich and dynamic character and because of this depth and curiosity, she offers a vivid depiction as the sole narrator of this series.
Robin is engaging and inspiring, and though she seems to feel out of her depth, her consideration for those around her- even the demons- is consistent and without exception. She is HILARIOUS, and so capable even if she can be a little ““zh’ūltis” when it comes to matters of the heart.
And Zylas? Whew. Never been so starry eyed for a demon in my life. I love him.
That said, there is nothing I love more than getting to spend time in a book world I already love, and Annette does a particularly swell job at enhancing and expanding the world that’s built in the Spellbound series of the Guild Codex world in this first Demonized book.
This book could be read entirely alone and be a fulfilling, exhilarating and delightful read. It’s witty, action packed and exhibits the incredible world building and emotional depth that I’ve come to expect from each of Annette’s books. When read in tandem with Spellbound, it offers another side to a familiar coin that somehow feels entirely new and also like coming home.
I truly cannot wait for what’s to come in Demonized, and the other facets of the Guild Codex world. This may be one of the best beginnings to a series yet.

I liked it well enough, but I'm not sure if I'm going to continue the series.

Zylas and Robin have one of the funnest demon sorceress relationships I’ve read in a long time. Robins an introspective bookworm, and Zylas is hilarious. Excited to read more.

This is the first book in a new series by this author. This runs mostly concurrently with the fourth book in the Guild Codex: Spellbound series. You don’t need to have read the other series to enjoy this one. And, boy did I enjoy this one! I have read the previous series, and to be honest, I wasn’t sure I would like this one as well. Yes, I knew I would like it, but I didn’t think I would like it nearly as much as I did. I adored Robin from the beginning. She’s timid yet determined, weak yet strong. I love how even though at first she couldn’t stand up to people, she learned how to better. Not great, but better. And, her demon is great, too. He’s bad but he has core of tenderness for Robin. Wonderful writing, fascinating plot, and great characters, I loved this book from beginning to end, and if you love urban fantasy, you must try this one! I really highly recommend this! I received a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

I think I’m going to enjoy this series even more than it’s predecessor. The heroine is delightful and I’m super intrigued by her relationship with her demon, Zylas.
